Questions & Answers
On the Darn Tough web site, you will find their size chart. Questions and answers are under the customer service tab. A question I received was, "There is no such thing as a standard size sock, is there?"? You can find the size chart you need on the website.
Since you listed the same two socks, it is hard to provide you with an When the weather gets colder, I would reach for a heavier sock. Winter and summer I wear this sock in Arizona all year long, but in cold temperatures I wear the Darn Tough Vermont Men's Merino Wool Boot Cushion Hiking Socks.
It's a great idea to let these socks air dry. My six pairs of socks are washed 5 at a time and line dried by the machine the following day. I wash pair six by the next day when all five are dry. I don't want to take the risk of drying wool. With that technique I have been wearing the socks for over three years and they are still as good as new.

that was sold by" You can find "Dearborn Supply" at the following web address. The socks I received from Amazon that were provided by Dearborn Supply were clearly counterfeit and did not live up to the excellent reputation of Darn Tough Socks of Vermont. I have since purchased the exact same socks directly from Darn Tough Socks of Vermont's website. In addition, the socks shrank in the wash, the lettering of the socks is fuzzy, pieces of thread came out on the inside, the socks were missing the color band on the inside of them, and they just don't feel exactly like I received through Amazon a product that literally could not be compared to the one I purchased directly from the manufacturer.
Because I thought they were so great, I bought 15 pairs of darn toughs, and after wearing one pair for two days, there was a huge hole in it! What the heck! They thought they were tough, didn't they? Thus, I have to ship them myself if I want to qualify for the 'lifetime unconditional guarantee'! In other words, the socks cost half as much. My verbal statement was that I bought 18 pairs in the last three months. This is what you can expect from people in terms of customer service. You should be careful about that 'unconditional' life time guarantee, it does come with.
Since buying Kirkland brand hiking socks, I have been wearing them to the hills. Considering they are far less expensive, I figured that you know what, I could wear out more than one pair of socks when I had purchased Nevertheless, I bought a pair after hearing so much about DT socks so that I could see what they were all about. For lots of reasons, they are more than worth the additional cost. Try them on and you'll see the difference right away. The Kirkland socks are thicker and bigger, It might seem like a better solution to you, but that's not ideal. They are very loosely woven, as you can see in the second picture, which not only makes them thicker, but also causes them to bunch and pill. I live in San Diego, and I hike a lot in warm weather, so the DT socks are much better in this regard. Kirkland socks have 1% spandex, while the DT has 3%. This results in less stretching over time, and a more comfortable The DT holds up better over time, and is of higher content. Elastic is hard on it, but it also holds up better in the long run. I preferred the DT when it was new, and I preferred it after washing, too. As you can see, the DT are a little lower on the calf, and I prefer the lower fit. There are other versions of the DT if you prefer a.

Since I'm a warehouse worker, I am on my feet for 10+ hours per day, so my socks disappear like butter. It was a surprise to me when I got the headphones, I didn't expect to like them, but I did. They are the perfect combination of thickness and they really keep your feet cool (or warm) and cushioned even in steel toe boots. Let's see how they hold up after six months of warehouse conditions they are solid and the stitching is almost seamless, but how will they hold up after six months of intense warehouse conditions As soon as I have an update, I will post it. In the event that they are still good, it will receive a 5 star rating. (Update after 6 months)
I still DARN love these socks after 6 months. I have raised the rating from 4 stars to It has been exceptionally difficult for them to keep up. It still looks old, but it still has pretty good stitching. There is some elasticity in the neck that has loosened, but that happens when I wash it as often as I do. The colors are still very much present. They've become such a favorite of mine that I kept buying six more pairs and now wear them every day. This is an excellent product that is well worth its cost. Are you still reading this? Don't leave them behind! Buy them now! Here is my last update (almost 3 years later)
These socks are virtually indestructible, according to me. These guys are the only socks I have bought in the last years and I wear them LITERALLY every time I do anything. After almost three years I still cannot express enough praise for the socks, which have lost some cushioning over time, but the elasticity and stitching are still as good as new. I wouldn't buy any other socks, but will definitely keep these stockings on hand. They may even be able to break if they break at all. In case you were wondering, these pictures are from the exact same pair and each was edited separately. My closing review is intended to be of use for the manufacturer in the future as I hope they maintain this level of quality in future. I think it's more fun to just buy these damn tough.
The smart way to shop for wool A pair of Smart Wool socks (to wear with my Frye boots this winter) was worn thin on the heel and, to a lesser extent, the sole after a winter of wearing them. It was literally like wearing out a pair of shoes. I got darn tough against Darn Tough. As I mentioned, I bought a pair of wool boot socks (Kirkland, which is Costco's store brand), which proved to be very durable over Eventually, the heel of these shoes started to wear thin, but it was not As of now, my Darn Tough socks are half way through a winter and still seem to fit as well as they did when I first This is really what makes Darn Tough stand out (as opposed to Kirkland) the 100% guarantee. Five miles a day, every day) and they are still like-new after over a year. As far as I can tell, the socks perform similarly to the Darn Tough socks. Based on my experience, I would rate Smart Wool (on a 10 point scale) a 5, and Kirkland an It's a five for Darn Tough and a nine for Darn Tough * * UPDATED The 18th of June Kirkland socks are still in good condition, but the elastic part at the top of the socks has begun to loosen, and the elastic part of the socks doesn't seem to stretch as much as it used to. Darn Tough socks are still going strong, even after years of wear. The bag does show some wear, but it is The fact that they are in such good condition is really amazing, given how frequently I wear them. It might be best if I reworded it this way Based on my ranking, I would suggest The five smart wool products are Kirkland 8, Darn Tough 9, Darn Tough 10.
