The same 2 socks are listed in both your questions, so answering is difficult. When the temperature drops, I think I'll go for a heavier sock. The Darn Tough Vermont Men's Merino Wool Boot Cushion Hiking Socks are what I wear in AZ all year, but I replace it with the Vermont Men's Merino Wool Boot Cushion Hiking Socks in
My favorite way to dry these socks is to air dry them. The next day, all 5 pairs are dry and I wash the sixth pair. I wash 6 pairs at a time, washing 5 at a time and putting them on a line by the washing machine. Do not want to take a risk by drying wool. The socks were still in like new condition after more than 3 years of using that technique.

that Dearborn Supply is a company located in Dearborn, Michigan. My experience with these socks was awful and did not live up to the excellent reputation of Darn Tough. As such, I bought the exact same socks directly from Darn Tough at their website. The socks provided through Amazon by Dearborn Supply appear to be I washed the socks and they shrank, the lettering looked fuzzy, there were pieces of thread on the inside of them, and the color band was missing on the inside. The socks just don't feel the same as the real ones, either. I took the one's I bought directly from the factory and received what I got via Amazon, and there is no comparison whatsoever.
In an attempt to try them out, I bought fifteen pairs of darn toughs because they seemed awesome. After two wears, one pair has a huge hole in it! What the heck! Were you under the impression Therefore, I have to ship them myself despite them being covered by a lifetime guarantee! A pair of socks costs half as much. According to my report, I had bought 18 pairs in the last three months. It is this kind of customer service that you will receive. Don't be fooled by the 'unconditional' guarantee of a lifetime, it holds some strings attached!.
The Kirkland brand hiking wool socks are the best, and I have been buying them for years. and I would wear out several pairs for the cost of just one pair of Darn Tough socks, I picked up several pairs. In any case, I bought a pair of DT socks to give them a try because I have heard so much about them. There is a big difference between the Kirkland socks and those from Nike. The Kirkland socks are much more substantial and thicker than Nike's socks. In that case, you would be wrong, but you might think that's better. There is a loose cloth weave in the second picture, which not only increases the thickness, but also causes bunching and pilling issues. My favorite DT socks are the tight ones with a tight weave. I live in San Diego, and hike mostly in warm weather, so the Kirklands tend to stretch more. The DT socks are 3% stretchier than the Kirklands, so they slightly better fit over time. With a higher content, DT holds up better over the long run, as dryers are hard on elastic. In addition to being more comfortable when new, it is also more comfortable when cleaned. As you can see by the example on the left, the DT fits low on the calf. I like that myself, and there are other sizes and styles.
I sent socks for warranty coverage and they didn't return The product will not be replaced!.
In a nutshell, Darn Tough v. It is smart to use wool As a result of wearing a pair of Smart Wool socks all winter (with my Frye boots), the socks were worn thin along the heel and, to a lesser degree, on Those were the only shoes I had left after wearing them all the way through. In a nutshell, Darn Tough v. I purchased a pair of wool boot socks (Kirkland, a Costco store brand) and they held up extremely well over the course of the Eventually, the heels started wearing thin, but not in a drastic way. The Darn Tough socks I purchased last year have lasted 1/2 through a winter and seem to be holding up just as well as It's the guarantee you get with Darn Tough (that sets them apart from Kirkland) that makes them stand out from the rest. Everyday) and they are like new after more than a year of routine In my opinion, Darn Tough socks will perform about the same as regular socks.
In my opinion, Smart Wool (on a 10 point scale) is a 5, Kirkland an 8, and Land's End an Five out of ten for the Darn Tough and nine for the Darn Tough. UPDATED (December 15. During my shifts as a warehouse worker, I spend ten hours on my feet and wear out socks at an alarming rate. It was a surprise when I got them to enjoy them, but I was wrong about that. They keep your feet cool (or warm) and cushioned even in steel toes, as they are the perfect blend of thick and thin. It feels like they are solid and the stitching is almost seamless, but let's give them 6 months under warehouse conditions to see how they will withstand Once that's done, I'll post another My rating would be a five star if the products are still good. (6 Month Update) After 6 months, I am still in love with I have changed the rating from 4 to a big 5. This team has done exceptionally well in keeping up. Stitching is as good as it ever was, elasicity in the neck has gone loose a little, but that was due to washing as much as I have to. The colors are still bright and vivid. As a result, I had to buy six more pairs, and now consider them a part of my everyday wardrobe. There is no doubt that Darn Tough is worth the money. What keeps you reading this?
So why is this still important to you? Don't think about it! Don't think about it! This is my last update (almost 3 years since I last posted). These socks are virtually indestructible, according to me. It has been awhile since I bought any other socks since these guys. I wear them virtually everyday no matter what After almost 3 years, the socks have lost a small amount of cushion, but still have a high level of elasticity and stitching. After almost 3 years, I absolutely can't praise these socks enough and won't be buying any other socks but these. - They could even break if they tried hard enough. As a side note, these pictures are from the same pair that I used in each review edit. It is my sincere hope that the manufacture will maintain this level of quality in the future and that my closing review was a help to you. It doesn't matter what I say. Just buy the socks.
