The loop can be any brand as long as the width of the ratchet bolt you are attaching it to is considered. In the case of a wider bolt, the loop could slip to one side and exert maximum stress on that side, creating a weak spot. A too narrow bolt could cause the loop to bunch up between the side plates of the ratchet, creating a weak spot as well. There is no hardware or software that can be beaten. Slack liners are great for regular use! Making it so much easier to take down the line than you would have to pop the ratchet every time. Furthermore, it keeps your line from getting torn up by ratcheting it every time. This is a great product!.
It works well, however, the loop where it attaches to the ratchet is not completely straight. While spooling the line, it is slightly offset and twists the ratchet, which causes the reel to be I am sure this is a fluke from Gibbon, and I hope that he can replace it for me.
