You have to fire

The literal sense. Doubles are only carried on tough climbs where I may need a lot of pro. My ideal collection would include BD C4s (the standard), as well as dragons. I grab the dragons when I am doing alpine stuff where I only need a few racks of singles. As for the Dragon cameras, they cover a pretty much identical range as the C4s, and, (thank goodness), they use the same color scheme as well. There are people who are concerned that a thumb loop is not included. It has never even occurred to me. So, they are easy and fast to place. They are probably a bit lighter than C4s, but I doubt that anyone climbing on traditional routes would notice the This tent has the biggest pro (and the only con, which I will address) that it has an extendable dyneema drawstring. It is very common for me to find that extending the draw to a more or less straight pitch provides enough protection from the cam walking to do not have to use This is pretty sweet. The downside is that those dyneema slings need to be replaced every couple of years, whereas those beefy nylon slings on C4s only need to be replaced every five or so years. When you have a rope in place, whether a decrease in strength of 30% or so due to aging of the dyneema would make a difference, given its initial breaking strength around 22kn, is worth considering. My opinion is that it probably won't happen. However, for those who strictly follow the books, you'll need to mail them somewhere every two years in order for a new sling to be created. I don't like that at all. In conclusion, two things stand out to me 2) When I place these cams, I love the way they look. planning to do direct aid, the lack of a thumb loop may be an inconvenience. The majority of my climbing is free climbing.

In Dragon Cam 6, I am the dragon
5/5

Camalots are heavier than these, but they have a similar range, and the sling can be extended. The free climbing cams are amazing! What more is there to say? A small issue you may have is that the thumb loop on the C4s makes them feel very secure in your hands, however this doesn't work for the dragon as it makes him feel less secure. In my case, I have never been bothered by this.

You can get Dragon Cam by using DMM
5/5

A set of dragon cams I purchased on Amazon for the first time. These DMM DragonCams are easy to use and durable, which is why I was very pleased with them. These cams have a great extendable runner built into them, and I have yet to experience a problem with them.
