Selected User Reviews For REDCAMP Hammock Rain Fly Waterproof and Lightweight, 10/12ft Tent Tarp for Camping Backpacking Hiking, Black/Green
Earlier this week, we received this tarp just in time for our Memorial Day weekend vacation. A nice set of strings and spikes are included in this slick looking device. I thought this was going to be a good purchase. The hammock tie down was ripped 15 minutes after it was set up by my tripping over it. There were several families with dog and kids at our campsite. If you happen to be at a busy campsite, I highly recommend you stay away from this. The addition of this item to my load out would have been very welcome, but life sometimes gets in the way.
A brief update A seller responded to my review by asking that I contact them using the Buyer / Seller messaging service, but I am not able to engage them using that method. As far as I know, Amazon has reached out to the seller twice over several weeks, but the seller never got back to me. So, I contacted Amazon twice in the past several weeks. Following that, I responded twice to the original response to my review, but I have not received a response from that method It has been difficult getting my issue resolved thus far, but I hope the seller sees this new review and gets in touch with me shortly. I purchased this from Amazon, and just after the return period (unfortunately) we finally got some rain, so I decided to put it to the test in windy weather and see how it performs. I went outside following several hours of rain to see how the tarp was doing. I had noticed water dripping from the hooks that are sewn into the bottom side Hooks are attached to tarps by means of a small strap that is sewn into the main I do not have a pooling of water on the top of my hammock therefore, the water is dripping from this joint all over it because gravity holds it down. As far as I can tell, this tarp is not suitable if you wish to stay dry underneath it. I am not sure if this is true for all of these tarps or just the one I received. Upon receiving a response from the seller, I'll update this post.
A stake and guy line kit came with it and it got the job done (the stakes are really nice, and the lines are bright orange and reflective, so they provide There are two lines with a length of about 12 inches (? There are four toggles that are 6(?) feet long, and they are connected by a ten-foot cable. An end toggle is at one end of the ) feet long cable. There was only one simple assignment I had to do Overnight, with a light sprinkle, I made it through the night dry and the interior surface of the tarp was dry. Once packed, it takes up about the same space as a loaf of bread, and I'm beginning to see why 10 feet by 10 feet is plenty of space. I recommend it for two people due to the amount of space, and the fact that it is less than half the It would still make a great tarp as a supplement to a tent (which I still will use it for sometimes), since it is so smaller and has excellent tie-downs This is a much better option than the tarp you can pick up at the hardware store, and the price is really good.
The tarp definitely feels like a good product, but the stakes and paracord are very cheap and feel out of place. I think the paracord that's supposed to be used as Ridgeline is so cheap that it feels like paracord 95 and is nothing compared to expensive American In terms of the tarp itself, I decided to purchase 550 paracord in addition to the bundled tarp paracord to tie the tarp, and will use the inexpensive paracord provided with the tarp for other purposes such as In addition to the drawstring bag the tarp came with, there was a smaller bag for the stakes and paracord. I appreciate the quality of the tarp and the fact that it came with a carry bag.
As you can see, we purchased the above package. It's important to have backpacking gear that is lightweight, easy to set up in a mountain hut, comfortable, and warm (for long journeys through mountains). The moment we tried it out together, we were sold, and we've been using it ever since (so far, we've used it for backpackers in January, February, and March of '21). I think I will continue to use this package for a very long time. We used it on the Appalachian Trail and over the Rocky Mountains in -1 degree weather, and we felt just as comfortable as home. There is no humor here. This was the first time we had been so warm and comfortable. At times, it would even get too hot (we only had thermal tops and bottoms on), so we would have to peek our heads outside to catch some fresh Isn't it great to be comfortable? Neither my 15 or 16 year old or I (the 19 year old) will ever camp with tents again. The quality of this is excellent. Adding to the ease of it as well. Inflatable camping pads are perfect for camping, but they still bring a degree of hardness due to the fact that you're on dirt. mold problems caused by tent moisture, etc. It takes so long to set up and take down the tents. You must hook onto trees or another structure if you want to use this. We have no alternative other than this, so it's the right call Your search for the ideal setup is going to be a challenge. Don't let the stitching fool you. In three gentle uses, these were pulled from the stitch after we took them backpacking. Our order included two different brands of sewing machine, both of which seemed to be made using the same machine. Both of the sewing machines produced too loose stitches on the bobbin side of the stitching. My 35 years of sewing experience have given me a lot of experience in this field. Neither of them was designed to be reused more than Returning an item at Amazon is easy thanks to their return policy. Save your time and money by not wasting them.
