My first use of it was to cover my hammock while on a camping trip in the winter. While on one of these trips it rained continuously for 3 days and 2 nights and I was able to keep my bedding and hammock dry the entire time. This waterproof jacket has a PU coating and taped seams that keep water out of the bag With its square(ish) shape and generous tie-out tabs it can be used as a basic tarp shelter for virtually any kind of weather. This is a bit heavier than some of the more top-of-the-line silnylon offerings, but in terms of value it is great. It is also very waterproof, so you can put it in the shower.

Great design and quality construction for the price, but would not recommend. I bought this tarp for a bugout trip with friends in the national forest for my birthday. Also bought a Free Soldier tarp for a second bugout bag for a friend. tarps were being used for the first time. Although the Chill Gorilla tarp was more wind-blocking, the limited number of tie-down holes made the tent more difficult to tear down There weren't as many configurations available with the Free Soldier Tarp, while it also blocked the wind really well, but it had more than double the tie-down points. The Free Soldier tarps had the same features as the Military Tarps, but were 50% less expensive. I bought two additional tarps after I returned home. This review or the comparison of products was not in any way influenced by me. The manufacturers of either product do not have any affiliation with me.

After a long, windy, and rainy weekend in the woods, I just got back from using it. It was a stellar performance by Tarp. Choosing this tarp was a major selling point for me since there were a lot of tie-outs. We had some very strong winds over the weekend, so it was far easier and far more secure to set up. Even though it rained the first night and there were high winds the next night, it remained warm and dry all weekend. A good job was done with the waterproofing. We were surprised to find that it did not When I woke up the first morning, I discovered one of my bags had been pushed against the tarp during the night, but despite it having rained steadily throughout the night there was no moisture seeping through the fabric. This great tarp could be taken to the next level with the addition of some tie out loops inside along the ridge line. To hang a bug net inside during the summer months would instantly make it even better.

The man, oh the It's no wonder I have to spend more money looking for a suitable tarp. I did a lot of research on this one. There was no quality control in it, so I guess it failed all of the tests. Earlier today, the package arrived. I checked out the box and unboxed it carefully. Trying a few common tarp pitches in the backyard like those shown on various YouTube videos. As soon as the perimeter loops were anchored, all was well. At the edge of the sewn ridge line, I propped up the trekking pole using a picture frame. My actions were based on caution due to my awareness of what can be too tight. The pole was loosened up to the extent of a peak, which is when I yelled, What the heck? My inspection shows the reason for the failure. Sewn on loop measures about 3/4" wide, and ridge seal is about 1/2" wide. However, when it poked enough holes into the material without doubled or tripled up seams, it basically cut it with a knife. Right there, I found myself stopped. I threw it in the recycling bin after wrapping it up in a trash bag. I suppose it is for the best. This is yet another inferior product.
I expect it to last more than thirty minutes but I don't expect miracles. thinking about it for a few minutes, I decided to give it another glance. If needs be, I'll fix it with duct tape and leave it as a shade awning when campin' in my van. I suppose it is for the best. *RL* Peace,

I really like the fact that the edges are trimmed in orange tape which in all honesty is pretty cool. Although the material isn't the lightest I think it's of good quality overall. I like it a lot and it also helps me It is also very nice to see that the ridge loops have eyelets as well as the edge loops being sewn to reinforcing patches. It has been rated 4 stars because at the price it offers good value for money and at the time of writing, the tarp cost $30. In the past, I would have paid 70 dollars for features similar to these This is the equivalent of $80. 00 USD. The only problem with this tarp is the slight lack of quality control (and a half star). One of the loops only had a single straight stitched stitch on it, and the stitching is not good. A ridge seam tape was not fully adhered to the fabric at the ends (not pictured). As a result, it could peel off over time, but given the location, should have no effect on As to the quality issues, I should point out that for me, none of them are significant enough to delay me from using the It is hoped that the manufacturer will see this review and will make some improvements to QC and make a tarp worthy of five stars.

I think it looks cheap with the logo. Despite what some might think, it isn't. A good job has been done in putting it together. In the end, stitching in parts is almost overkill, and it always turns out that I need it. When I was hunting in Colorado this year, I slept with this over my hammock. Even though it wasn't torrential rain, it was enough to remind me of how glad I was to have it, and to be confident using it in worse circumstances. As I cranked down the lines, there were some strong winds, but the line held strong and did not stretch. With lots of attachment points I find it as flexible as I like. It may not be the most famous brand, but I am happy with the quality for the price.
