Questions & Answers

Can you give us an idea of how much this tarp weighs, in grams or In order to make it light, it will need to be as compact as possible. Please accept my sincere thanks! ?

It weighs approximately 3 ounces). With the dry bag that comes with it, it adds another It's a couple of tablespoons). There's no doubt that this is

Do you know if it also works as a footprint?

It is always possible to use a cheaper option for footprints, though it would be risky to puncture such a great tarp.

What is the piece count or what amount of pieces and seams are there?

There seems to be one seam here.

Could it be used as a shade from the sun if it is too light?

Water repellant AquaQuest tarps are designed primarily for withstand wind and keep water out, so UV protection or UV control is not provided by AquaQuest tarps As a whole, endurance is rated. Although many of our customers use these tarps as sun covers, it's true that we have heard of them in the past. Even though you can still see light through it, this covers you from the rays to some extent. The other commenter mentioned that it's difficult to qualify without a UV rating, but here is what the other commenter did This tarp does a great job and I recommend it highly!

It is great for Silny to gain weight
5/5

I was satisfied with how quickly it arrived. The manufacturing process should be quality-oriented. It worked fine for a 2 day hike along the AT in MD - first day of rain, I set it up in diamond configuration, I stayed dry, there were no leaks from seams or inside That first night it was too cold and windy to pitch it, so I used some shock cord tensioners and pitched it as a square storm the next night. Despite being exposed to stress for over an entire night, there were no tears, rips, or stains. The only thing I would like to see added is more tie outs along the ridge and along the sides (not the edges, since those are plenty). No damage was caused to the tarp when I used a button and a cord to create a pullout for the side. Looks like it will hold up well. It is great for Silny to gain weight. The cuben fiber is obviously not as light as this one, but at this price, it's all good. I would purchase from these guys again and recommend them.

Those tarps are nice
5/5

I was very pleased with the customer service. This tarp is great. You can put a lot of pressure on it. During the winter, I had mine out to block the wind and for warmth (I know, I know, I must held up well to a lot of abuse. It was a leak-free experience for me. Despite their slim size, the tie offs are well made and will stand up to a lot. A pin hole appears to have occurred where the sewing machine missed the seam, along the seam line. As a result, my tarp developed a tear right at the point where the pinhole would have occurred. In the event of a defect, I was afraid I would not be able to obtain the 2-year warranty. In the past, I have experienced similar problems with similar warranties from other companies. As a first step, I received a reply from the company the day after my email was sent. A very simple confirmation of defect process, which involved taking a picture to prove the damage, resulted in a new tarp being sent to me instantly, which arrived earlier this week. From the time I first contacted Tarp-Shack, I had my new tarp in my hands in less than a week. Neither with the tarp nor with the customer service I received, I could not have asked for a greater The products of Aqua quest hold up well against the test of time, so you know they're worth it. They will continue to be my go-to company for more than a year.

A camping trip can either be a success or a failure
5/5

When I went on a overnight hike in Tennessee in April, I expected the rain to taper off and the temperature to rise. As it turned out, no one expected it to work out that way. There was snow and sleet as we hiked 5 miles into the campsite. At the site, we were sure to have wet wood and it was a horrible situation. The tarp had been strung up at the site in a hurry, we arranged a couple of chairs below it and built a small fire on a flat rock underneath We moved the rock a few feet away after starting the fire. The moisture in the wood didn't matter anymore by that point. it had not been for this tarp, our trip would have been a total loss. We would have been in our tents, trying to keep Even a $15 tarp from the hardware store would be of limited value, since you wouldn't be able to use it nearly as much as you could otherwise. It is a lightweight, thin, yet incredibly durable tarp, with incredibly strong tie-out points. The placement of the tie-out points allows you to customize the configurations to meet your needs. This trip would not have been possible without my tarp. Here's what it is all about.

It is small, sturdy, lightweight and versatile, as well as being lightweight
5/5

It surprisingly packs down When used for the first time, it took a beating from really bad As for setting the shelter up in anticipation of the storms, I positioned it with its back to the wind, fitted a central ridge line, pegged it to the ground on the windward side, added several clean guylines at higher points and gutter lines to prevent water Unharmed by the weather, the tarp stood up to the elements. There is no leakage even when it is raining hard. All the loops on the seams are a special favorite of mine. The tarp can be customized either in size or in shape by turning sections underneath, both of which can be done with no need to sew.

This high-quality, water-resistant material is very strong and robust
5/5

In a variety of weather conditions/terrains, this tarp can be used for a variety of purposes. The unit is very compact and light (and the bag is of excellent quality) so it can be carried quickly with ease wherever it is needed. A storage bag of up to 100 ft has enough space for up to 50 feet. Depending on the extent of the tent, it might need to have 2 or more tent stakes (paracord or thinner) attached if/as desired. In addition to being LIGHTER, thinner/lighter tarps often tend to be less durable, plus the cost of these tarps is considerably higher. It is a great value for its price and a great quality.

Keeping my gear dry was a huge plus
5/5

I rate this tarp a 5 out of 5. It was early the next day. In the yard, I opened it up to inspect it and found all the seams to be well stitched and watertight. My wife and I used this on our 2 day backpacking trip in Allegheny National Forest, and it worked beautifully! One night, it rained pretty hard for a few hours and all my gear stayed dry when I was sleeping. So far, so good! It's even been fun trying out the different shelter techniques and shelter design I've seen online.

I am extremely happy with the product
5/5

This tarp was purchased for a backyard party when Mother Nature threatened (and The deliverables arrived! My experience as an Outward Bound instructor has taught me how to recognize a good outdoor product, and I can say that this tarp Due to its lightweight nature, I was able to easily assemble it by myself even though it was large. Even though the light was intense- Despite the fact that some rain pooled in one area, the fabric didn't let any rain slip through. The ropes were secured with multiple tie out loops on lightweight ropes. Tie-dye is one of the most prolific methods Our patio is fairly large, so we went with various anchor spots around the area to secure the tarp. My recipe involved a combination of half-baked and whole-baked A hitch, bowline, or trucker hitch can be attached. Our patio could be used in the rain because we were completely dry. Everyone was very pleased with this product. It worked perfectly and gave us the opportunity to use our lovely patio. The tarp was a little expensive in my opinion, and there are certainly cheaper tarps out there, but it has a nice lightness and is durable Weighs less than 10 ounces, which makes it easy to carry while backpacking. If I had to buy this again, I would definitely do so I might just buy one more!.
