Based on the side by side comparison, the only difference that I see is that the air outlet valve is smaller than the old one. There is no way I can tell if it is better or worse. My favorite part of the valve is the larger size. The smaller valve makes it easier to fold and stick into the case due to the smaller size.

For years, I had carried an Eno Pillow with me whenever I was in the woods in order to sleep. My favorite type of sleep is side sleep, and without a pillow I cannot get comfortable. While I used my pack, food bag, extra clothing, etc, I found that I needed a proper pillow to sleep well and that I usually had to add a fleece or my puffy jack underneath to get it to the appropriate height. I would frequently wake up and adjust everything under the synthetic filled pillow as well, as whatever I placed under it hardly stayed in place during the night. It wasn't until I got this Sea to Summit pillow that it changed all of that. In the process of preparing for a section hike on the AT from Springer Mountain to Neal's Gap, I was interested in using this system to save space in my pack. After receiving my pillow, I noticed it took up 1/10th of the space that my Eno pillow used to take up. The pillow was so light and so easy to pack that when I put it in my clothes bag, I forgot that I added any gear to it. However, in the back of my mind, I was worried it would deflate in the middle of the night. However, that worry soon faded when I saw how well it was Moreover, it was the perfect size to allow me to sleep on my side without having to use anything else to raise it. The pillow was very nice. My camping tent has many uses beyond camping out. It's comfortable and I love using it. annoys me about it is that it has a noisy interior.
