It will work on some flints, but finding the right one requires a lot of practice and an eye for the differences in flint types - In an emergency, there are some things you don't have time for. It's best to pair it with a good ferro rod ahead of time, and wear them on a necklace/lanyard with a small knife while hiking so you don't lose them if you and your pack become separated. It took days to find a good pair of flints back when people used flint to start fires. Friction was used to start most of your emergency fires (for example, a bow and stick). Any traveler worth his salt had a good flint and steel/iron in case of emergency as far back as the Bronze Age; As they traveled, they'd keep an eye out for new stones. br>br>It's best to emulate them.
There are no ruler-like markings.

My discovery on YouTube of the use of hacksaw blades as ferro strikers was extremely satisfying. Then, on Amazon, I discovered the DOSMANZ striker/scrapers. I had no qualms about satisfying my curiosity because they appeared to be well-made, had an interesting configuration, and were so inexpensive. Today was their arrival. It's nicely finished, and the size and fit are ideal for my fingers. The hacksaw blade was put to shame with the first scrape. It looked like the Fourth of July with all the hot sparks! Except for the one that fits so perfectly in the sheath of my Swiss Army Knife, I immediately replaced all of my hacksaw blade strikers. A five-star rating is unmistakable.
Love it. Very easy to use and produces a great shower of sparks with each size of ferrous rod I have, which exceeded my expectations, especially considering the price. 25 inch wide and. 75 inch. I'm not sure about the bottle opener, but it appears to be sturdy enough to open a bottle without difficulty. br>br>There are five in the box, one for each of us in the family and one left over as a spare. This purchase made me very happy. br>br>.
Everything is fine. Nothing to brag about. I'm not sure why so many 5-star reviews exist. the number of stars This accomplishes the task at hand. I'm not sure why there are so many 5-star reviews. the number of stars It accomplishes the goal. It's not comparable to other strikers or simply using the back of a knife, but it does the job.
These are the best strikers for softer ferro rods on the market. They produce a lot of sparks but are easy to hold, and the hole allows you to string the striker to the rod. They are without a doubt the best strikers I've ever come across. They are excellent value for money and perform admirably.
If these were cheap, I'd say great, but they all look great and there are measuring numbers on the side, which I didn't notice when I bought them. Coronavirus is on its way, so buy some of these in case you need them.
They have a metric ruler on one side and a nut driver on the other. On one end, there's a hole for a lanyard. Overall, if you have a good ferro rod, this is a good product. Make sure you have both when you leave the house! If you're looking for a unique way to.
It's easier to hold in your right hand, and it works well even if you're a lefty. Cut out is designed to be used with the right hand, but it can also be used with the left hand. Lefties can also hold the pointy ends and use the longer edge if they are not connected to anything else.
It appears to be quite long-lasting. On ferocium rods, it's fantastic.
