Product Description

With this battery eliminator, you can power the BF-F8 and UV-5R series BaoFeng radios directly from your car.
While in the vehicle, it replaces your radio's stock battery with a DC power source.
Please keep in mind that this is a battery eliminator, not a car charger for your current battery.

Questions & Answers

Is it possible to charge NiMH batteries while they are still connected to the radio, just like the original battery pack?

Everyone take a deep breath; this section of the Q&A covers FOUR products. In the case of "BL-", 5" and "BL 5L" ("extended") versions of your stock UV5R or BFHP charger, you can charge those two types with or without the radio. Additionally, the "BL-" can be charged. 5L" comes with its own cable, as well as a special USB with a voltage step-up circuit. br>Now there are two more devices listed here: a "battery eliminator" with cig plug adapter, which doesn't need to be recharged, so the issue is moot, and the BL-100. You can use regular alkaline AA batteries like Duracell in there, or rechargeable AA (like rechargeable lithium, or if you're living in the 20th century, NiMH or nicad), but you can't charge your AA rechargeable lithium, nimh, or nicad with Beofeng's chargers. Eliminator number five.
- BL- Charges in a standard Baofeng Charger "CH-" for uv5r. 5" on the radio or off the radiobr>- BL- 5L (also known as 3800): similar to above, plus a USB cable (there are several USB cables; make sure you get the right one)br>- BL- You can use either non-rechargeable or rechargeable AA batteries, but you cannot charge them while inside the BL-100. AA
- BL- Getting rid of: It doesn't have a battery, so there's no way to charge it. br>So, guys and gals, when you see these kinds of listings for several products on Amazon, the QA, and for that matter, the reviews, may only be for one of them and not have accurate information for the others.

Is this compatible with Baofeng's UV-C light? 5rtp?

I was going to ask you, Charlene, if you're sure it's a UV-C lamp. 5RTP, but I first checked Amazon to see if such a model existed. Yes, the battery holder appears to be a good fit. I always test fit my battery holders, and if they seem too tight, I smooth off the'sharp' edges that go up into the radio with a diamond coated fingernail file on the course side. A smooth fit and the smooth click of the battery retainer will result from careful trial and error fitting. I purchased six of these battery holders, and they are compatible with the following radios: UV-A, UV-B, UV-C, UV-D, UV-E, UV-F, UV-G, UV 5R+, BF- F8HP, UV- 5X3. Another word of caution: insulate the center 'Bus Bar' at the top in the middle with silicone caulking, which not only insulates but also acts as an adhesive to keep the bus bar from loosening. Some people have mentioned how the bus bar can slip out of the groove and cause a short, which could result in a fire or the case melting. Some people, I believe, have even posted photos of the area that needs to be treated. I've completed all of my responsibilities and am currently sleeping peacefully. I believe the photos are in the battery holder customer reviews.

What is the mechanism behind this? With the help of a BF- With 6 AA batteries, will the F8HP transmit? What exactly is the purpose of the dummy battery?

This was purchased for its UV protection. Mine is a 7rrrrrrrrrrrrrr It says on the back of the radio that it requires 4 volts to operate (not the battery packs) and that it is powered by 6 brand new 1. Because 6 batteries equals 7, 2v rechargable batteries will not even turn it on. If you're using rechargables, you'll need to use regular 1. Batteries that are 5 volts.

Please double-check that this is compatible with the 8 Watt BF-80. Full power on the F8HP. I decide to buy the 7. It was a 99th-party one, and it didn't work with 8 watts. ?

On my machine, it works.

Selected User Reviews For BTECH, BaoFeng BL-5 Battery Eliminator for BF-F8HP, UV-5X3, and UV-5R Radios

It's a fantastic product on its own, but it's even better when it's tweaked! I didn't have any trouble locking it into place on my Baofeng F8HP, unlike other reviewers, and I didn't have any trouble charging the battery
5/5

Anyways, one major flaw I found with most all ham radios is the ability to charge the battery. I purchased a HAM radio for emergency preparedness, and one of the first things I noticed was that all I had was a wall adapter to charge the original battery. I couldn't use my radio if the power went out for an extended period of time and I didn't have any gas in my car. Most of my gear has been upgraded to work with 18650 lithium-ion batteries. batteries made of lithium ion I designed a solar charger that can charge 18650 cells, allowing me to charge most of my equipment using solar power when other options are unavailable. As a result, I built an adapter for my radio to allow it to run on 18650 batteries. The voltage of the battery when it was first installed was 7. I only had to solder power connectors to the car adapter, radio adapter, and my new 18650 battery pack because 4v is exactly what 2 18650 batteries provide. As a result, I can still plug it into my car or use my 18650 battery pack to power my radio if necessary. Take a look at the pictures to see how well it works! I need my survival gear to work in the middle of nowhere when I buy it. Li-ion battery with solar charging My solution is to use ion cells and modify equipment to accommodate them.

I'm blown away! (For more information, see Attention
5/5

) I'm blown away! This is an exceptional piece of work. The plastic is of good quality and thickness, so it will last a long time. It has a very solid feel to it, and it matches my radio perfectly. You can't tell it apart from the 3800MAH battery with the batteries in place. Battery performance varies depending on the batteries used, but it lasted far longer with 3800 MAH NiMH batteries than the 3800MAH LiON battery that came with the radio. That is, in fact, the reason I purchased this battery box. After only 6 months of use, the Baofeng 3800 MAH LiON battery I purchased was completely depleted. I reasoned that NiMH batteries would be superior. Instead of the standard 3800 MAH battery, I strongly advise you to purchase this. br>WARNING: IF YOU DO NOT READ THIS, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFI This battery box has a design flaw that could cause injury, according to reviewer For Realz. Because there is only a small air gap between the middle battery contact and the radio contact, there is a good chance that the battery pack will short out. To insulate them, I used a piece of credit card plastic wedged in tight enough that it won't come out, but you can SuperGlue it in place if you want to be sure. This will put an end to the dangerous situation. This does not affect my overall rating, but it is important to be aware of.

It's a good product, but it could be better
4/5

Great product; unlike some others, they included a dummy. I ordered two of them, and the bottoms of both of them could be pulled apart if the press tab didn't engage properly. With a little sanding, the latches are now functional. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> Unless modified, there is a risk of fire. When the metal contact in the center battery channel loosens up on its own and touches one of the contacts that sends power to the radio, the metal becomes red hot, the plastic begins to melt, and I'm sure a fire ensues, but I had the case open at the time and simply shook the batteries out quickly to avoid further damage. I'm still giving this product four stars because there aren't many options for using AA batteries with a Baofeng; it just requires a little tweaking. To keep the metal tab from poking through and contacting the metal above it, I used some high-temperature RTV silicone sealant. It's not perfect, but it can't catch fire anymore; you can see where the metal heated up and discolored on the right radio contact, as well as the silicone seal I used to keep the piece from touching it again in the photo.

It works, but it needs to be fixed right away to keep it safe
4/5

The top center battery terminal can easily come loose, contact another terminal, and short out the pack, as previous reviewers have stated. *This is something I've never had to deal with before. * I did, however, take the precaution of gluing the top center battery terminal in place so that it does not wiggle free, as advised. Check out the images. It now works safely and as expected after this quick fix. The battery life is significantly longer with 6x NiMH (6-cell NiMH battery) (2-cell NiMH battery). 3x the capacity of the 1100 mAhr Li-ion battery ion provided by the Baofeng UV-C lamp Another issue with this product is the looseness of the snap mechanism that holds the clam shell design together. Without pressing the release button, I can easily pull the two apart. br>As well as. When using alkaline batteries, please use the included dummy battery (1. AA batteries (5V) are required! The radio will intentionally not work if six alkalines are used because the total voltage is outside the operating range. Because they didn't read, a lot of people gave this product bad reviews.

UV5R has an 8A battery
5/5

For my UV5R, I bought a Baofeng battery. The unit is a perfect fit for the HT, it looks great, and it lasts a long time. It's a NiMH chemistry battery with a 3800 mAh capacity and excellent build quality. So far, it's been a success.

This is the one I should have bought first
5/5

OK, I found a comparable item for about half the price from another seller - It worked with the radio, but it was inconvenient because it couldn't meet the electrical demand while transmitting. I went ahead and ordered the battery eliminator in the BTECH version - This is fantastic! Yes, it's a few dollars more (really, it's not that much more), but it fits the radio perfectly, and I don't notice any reduction in the radio's electrical demand. Forget about the rest. Take a chance.

Pack of Batteries: Car Charger: A Perfect Fit There isn't much to say about this because it is excellent but fragile
5/5

It's the ideal match for my F8HP. It means that even if the power goes out, I'll be able to keep the radio running. I'm not planning on using this in place of the regular battery, but rather as a backup in case of emergency (or while traveling with the radio so I don't have to carry the charger as well, because I'm lazy). I like how well the batteries fit and how simple it is to replace them. This is an excellent complement to an outstanding radio. br>br>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: br>I recently purchased a car charger. It performs admirably. Fits perfectly and produces the exact amount of power required. It does have a cheap, fragile feel to it, which makes me concerned about it banging around in the car. I'm pleased with the results overall. br>br>I included this in the review because Amazon considers these to be the same item.
