Selected User Reviews For AnyTone 12V Battery Eliminator (for AT-D868UV and AT-D878UV)
I'm disappointed that the seller didn't think including a clip with this item was worthwhile. In my car, I use this (as do the majority of people). In most cases, I adapt the cords on these eliminators by inserting a connector. I need to wire it into my overhead console, so I'm looking for a way to do that. Then "clip" the radio into a holder on my overhead console, as one might expect. I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to do that with this one - No clip. It has screw holes that can be used to attach a belt clip - However, you should try to locate one for purchase. Even stranger to me is the fact that the label on this still reads "Li- Lithium-ion Battery". All of the battery disposal warnings, for example, are included. "MADE IN CHINA" is, of course, a must. While I enjoy the AnyTone radios and have three of them, BridgeCom needs to realize that small mistakes like this shoddy accessory can make or break a business. While I still recommend their radios to other HAMs, I will advise them to wait until more aftermarket options become available before purchasing any of their products. I'll definitely think about it before I make a decision.
If 12V power is available, such as in a vehicle or a home with a 12V power supply, this is a nice feature to have. I bought it to extend the life of the battery by reducing the amount of time it is used. What makes you give it only four stars? Because the cable is inserted into the bottom in such a way that when the back is snapped on, the radio does not stand upright. I'll have to devise a stand to accommodate the cord; otherwise, it appears that a battery case has been modified, as it bears the stickers of a Li-ion battery. ion battery, despite the fact that it is devoid of one. If it came with a belt clip, I could use it to make a bracket to attach it to, but it doesn't.
So far, I've only used it once, and it was successful. It was a perfect fit. It didn't come with a belt clip, which it doesn't require and which I wasn't expecting, but I thought I'd mention it. For'meets expectations,' I give it four stars. I'm not sure what went above and beyond my expectations.
Overall, this accomplishes what it sets out to do. It allows me to leave my Anytone 878 in the car without having to worry about the battery dying. The only thing I'd change is the location of the cord's entry into the housing. It enters at the bottom, preventing the radio from being inserted into a cup holder.
To save on battery wear and tear, I use this in my vehicle as well as in the house with a power supply. It functions admirably. I would recommend this product and purchase it again if necessary, but I hope I will not have to.
When using the D878 with a 13-volt power supply, this is very useful.
Excellent.
Fits my 868UV perfectly, so I don't have to worry about the battery in the car.
