The fact that the products are UV-resistant is appealing to me. No issues with the 5R's or the desktop chargers. br>br>I don't like how the charging port isn't quite right and has to be fiddled with in order to charge. I also dislike the fact that the batteries' actual capacity is just over half of the 3800 mAh advertised. Both batteries were cycled several times before being tested from a full charge. The first one has a capacity of 2112 mAh, while the second has a capacity of 2144 mAh. br>br>I wish manufacturers would be more forthright about their products. Even if they were advertised as 2100 or 2200 mAh, I would have bought them as replacements for my aging batteries that came with the radios because I prefer the longer battery because it allows the radio to carry better in my pocket. br>br>As for the charging port, this type of DC connection has been around for a long time, and I can't believe it can't be fixed with a minor modification to the socket design or assembly. I placed an order for two of these. Mirkit's battery kit worked perfectly and fit my UV-lighting system. No problems with 5Rs. I've got three UV-resistant items. 5Rs, and I'd ordered the standard BTECH one as my first UV-curing device. At first, the battery didn't work, and the contacts on the radio wouldn't seat properly. It turned out that a small piece of plastic (a leftover from the manufacturing process) was obstructing the contacts, and cleaning it up wasn't difficult. After that, the batter worked fine, but these two Mirkit edition batteries performed flawlessly right out of the box. br>Perfect fit, and they've been performing admirably thus far.

I ordered these to have a couple of spare batteries for my radio, but they were incorrectly advertised. BL- was the designation given to them. I was supposed to get 5L 3800mAh batteries, but I got two BL- 2800mAh battery, 5 br>br>The 3800mAh box was also labeled. I'm not sure if it was a mistake on the factory's part or not, but it was disappointing to say the least.

Increases the radio's overall size - AWESOME DESIGN, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF: br>When standing the radio on a flat surface or in the forward bay of the battery charger (not back against the charging contacts), the two small "legs" on the bottom of the battery appear to be slightly longer than those on the radio itself, tilting the radio slightly forward. The radio seems to be on the verge of tipping over all the time - Moreover, I believe the radio will easily topple if the table it is on is accidentally bumped. I'm hesitant to "trim" the feet on the bottom of the battery because I'm afraid it won't fit in the charger properly. Overall, the Baofeng UV-Baofeng UV-Baofeng UV-B 5R (Mirkit UV-Visible) The Baofeng large battery and the 5R MK5 8W 2019) radio appear to be well-designed; it's just this little "design Bug" that annoys me.

This is an excellent radio. They're also known for being inexpensive and dependable, which is exactly what this radio is. BAOFENG, ON THE OTHER HAND, DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY IF THEY WERE PURCHASED ON AMAZON. Only purchases made through their authorized storefront are eligible for service and RMA replacements. So be cautious - If you buy a baofeng radio on Amazon, you should treat it as a disposable if something goes wrong with it.

I purchased the Baofeng to supplement my Kenwood TH6-based HT. When I'm out in the field as a railroad photographer, I need two radios for safety. The Baofeng is used to scan railroad frequencies, while the Kenwood is used for amateur radio communications. I can use the Baofeng for longer periods of time because of the large capacity battery. br>br>However, I do have one complaint. The Baofeng comes with no documentation. It includes a list of each button's functions, but no instructions on how to program the radio or use the radio's other features and functions. I bought RT Systems programming cable and software for both radios for my iMacs, so it's the only reason it's usable. The RT System software makes programming either radio simple and quick, but I am unable to change ANY programming while out in the field because I cannot find any documentation on how to do so. br>br>The bottom line is that this is a great radio for the money if you can figure out how to program it yourself or purchase programming software.

I received my pak almost immediately and was delighted to see that it was exactly as described. For road repairs, I have to monitor radio traffic for at least 40 hours per week, and one pack lasts at least two weeks, so having two is just icing on the cake! The unit is small and light, and it easily slips on and off, matching the radio perfectly. Without a shadow of a doubt, 5 STARS!.
