Questions & Answers

Is this strong enough to cut a chain link fence's wire? The wire cutter is said to be quite good, even better than the wire cutters found in other models. ?

I wouldn't cut chain link fence with Rebar. It's likely that you'll break it, or at the very least, that the cutters will need to be replaced. It's an excellent multitool, but if you need to cut chain link, even a cheap pair of fencing pliers would suffice. The Rebar, on the other hand, has been used to cut a lot of soft steel fencing wire as well as steel clothesline, and it's a great little tool.

are your pliers spring-loaded? loaded?

It's not spring-loaded, but it's an excellent tool nonetheless.

What makes this item different from the "Leatherman 831547 Rebar"?

I double-checked the package and discovered that I have the 831547 model, which includes a standard nylon case with velcro closure. It's the same from what I can tell. The only three variations I can find are the leather box sheath (831551) and the black oxide model with Molle sheath (831553).

Is there a sheath included with it?

It's packaged in a black sheath and has a canvas-like feel to it. It's easy to stow on your belt.

Size, quality, and versatility are all ideal
5/5

You will not be sorry. The following are some of the reasons why you should purchase the Rebar: • High-quality construction. br>br> USA made. There is no play, rattling, or machining marks; everything is smooth and precise, and there are no plastic parts. • A wide range of tools are available. br> Torx 8 is required to remove the 154CM wire cutters. All of the tools are secured in their respective positions. Philips driver made of D2 tool steel. A large awl, a full-size file and blades (plain and serrated), and a powerful saw are all included. br>• Handles that are easy to hold. Rounded- The rounded edges provide a comfortable grip for long periods of time. br>• Dimensions and weight This is the lightest of Leatherman's full-length leather jackets. tools of various sizes Can fit in a pocket or on your belt while still containing the majority of the tools you'll need, as well as one of the best plier heads in the multitool world. • 25-year-old man• 25-year-old woman• 25-year-old woman• 25 Leatherman provides a one-year warranty on its products. You'll be passing it down to your children as long as you don't go insane with it. br>br>Why you should avoid purchasing Rebar: br>br>While the Rebar is a great tool, it might not be the best fit for your needs. This isn't going to appeal to everyone by design. • When you open the tool, you can access all of the tools. There are advantages and disadvantages to this approach. It makes the tool smoother, with fewer edges that could catch on your pants/pockets, and it's less susceptible to dirt and other contaminants, not to mention that one-handed operation. Many countries prohibit the use of blades that open with one hand. The Rebar's design may or may not suit your needs, depending on which tools you will use the most. • No scissors are allowed. Having no scissors as a result of design isn't a flaw (having ineffective scissors is). If you want scissors in a multitool, the Rebar should obviously not be your first choice. br>• No spring-loaded blades pliers with a full load The lack of a spring in the pliers, like the lack of scissors, is a design choice; they chose to make it that way. In the event that spring arrives, If you're looking for loaded pliers, this isn't the tool for you. • There is no pocket clip on this item. Although it is small enough to fit in a pocket, it cannot be clipped on. The Rebar isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. It's a one-handed, rapid-deployment tool, so there's no need for a pocket clip. However, if you really wanted to, you could add one. • It's not big enough for you. br> While this model is capable, there are larger Leatherman models that may be better suited to your heavy-duty needs. a call for service br>br>Special note about the standard sheath: br>There was only a $1 difference between Rebar with no sheath and Rebar with this sheath. I suppose getting it with a sheath is worth it at $5. This sheath, however, isn't designed specifically for Rebar. The Rebar will not fit because it is too flat and wide. It just fits, but it's clear that it's a generic sheath made in China. I wouldn't trust it to last because it showed signs of fraying right out of the box, and Leatherman's 25-year warranty doesn't cover sheaths. a one-year warranty It's odd that a company that prides itself on making its tools in the United States also employs a Chinese-born employee. created a sheath I expected them to offer their products with either no sheath or their own, made in the United States sheath. Sheaths were made. It is what it is, and it costs one dollar. 5. Rather than going without a sheath, you should go with this Rebar. The tool is excellent, but the sheath is a one-time use item. br>br>Conclusion: br>br> br>Before purchasing a multitool, do your homework. Set your priorities first, and then purchase a multitool that will adequately cover them. Don't buy a multitool and then try to make it fit your needs. Consider what matters to you. br> br>Are you purchasing it to use it, or simply to admire it? br>Are you purchasing it for work, hobbies, or simply as a collector's item? br>Are you buying it primarily for the pliers, with the rest as a bonus? Is it primarily for the blades that you're buying it? br>br>While the Rebar may not suit everyone's needs, there are a variety of designs to choose from, so there should be something for everyone. br>Check prices, read reviews, and, if possible, visit a store to hold the item in your hands. br>Finding the ideal multitool with the right tool selection, quality, ergonomics, and price is difficult, and you'll probably have to buy several. But, eventually, you'll come across something that's almost perfect, such as the Rebar, which is my personal favorite. Photos: br>br>
1. Surge, Rebar, Wingman, and Micra are all words that come to mind when I think of the word "surge. "
2. Pliers for Surge and Rebar. The wire-cutters are all the same size.
3. Rebar and Micra have both closed their doors.
4. Wingman pliers, rebar, and rebar. Shears with a length of 154 cm wire-cutters on the Rebar, type replaceable wire-cutters, non-replaceable wire-cutters, non-replaceable wire-cut pinching device that can be replaced Use the Wingman to type your message.

When it comes to screwdriver bits, there are a few things to keep in mind
5/5

Although this model lacks a bit socket, screwdriver bits can be used instead. Find "Ganzo Plier Screwdriver Bits" on AliExpress. "This is a set that should include an adapter that goes from 0 to 1. Screwdriver bits are 21 inches long and 1/4 hex. The phillips screwdriver on the rebar is perfectly accommodated by this adapter. Because the screwdriver shaft is square, it appears that Leatherman anticipated this, but I'm not sure why an accessory kit wasn't included. Other thoughts: br>br> This is the lightest full-length gown that I've ever seen. featured a high-quality Leatherman now makes a high-quality multitool. Anything less expensive, even if it comes from Leatherman, is subpar and lacks functionality. The rebar is already quite heavy, and anyone considering a higher-end option should be aware of this. end model to take the additional weight into account I'm not sure why Leatherman made the Wave, Charge, and Surge so big and heavy when the rebar is so light and compact. There's also no pocket clip for the rebar (and no easy way to add one) due to a lack of accessories.

This is an excellent belt accessory
5/5

In terms of tools, the Wingman or Rev are a more direct substitute for the PST, but this Rebar is superior. br>br>The only tool on a multitool that I've ever worn out is the wire cutters, and this is the lightest leatherman that allows me to replace them. br>br>I chose this over the gerber because while the gerber cutters are replaceable, they're thin carbide, which is more prone to shattering than dulling, so I'd rather have these since they'll last way longer in between replacements. br>br.

My pair was overtightened at the factory due to poor quality control
3/5

This premium tool, which came overtightened, did not impress me at all. The entire tool requires a lot of force to open and close, and after a lot of lube, time, and working on the joints, it's clear that Leatherman didn't know how to apply proper torque at the factory and overtightened everything.

This is a fantastic tool
5/5

My old leatherman was unfortunately lost. I never leave the house without carrying one. I'm still getting used to the Rebar, but I think I'll like it better than my old one once it's broken in and I've used it for a while. It's as sturdy as any leatherman I've ever owned. Some customers have complained that the tool is too sloppy and loose. I'm not sure how that's even possible. Every leatherman I've owned, two or three by now, is stiff when new and softens with use; the file is better than my old one; they added a wire stripper that actually works; and the two blades were sharp right out of the box. I used to own a Gerber tool, but I never liked the screwdrivers that came with it. Leatherman has some nice long screwdrivers, and these are the best I've ever used on a leatherman. The tools also lock into place, which I consider to be a fantastic feature. Overall, it's a great tool to have in your pocket or on your belt, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good multitool.

This little tool is just another example of the Leatherman quality
5/5

I own, and have owned, many Leatherman products, and this little tool is just another example of the Leatherman quality. This tool has everything I need, and it's a great value. The file is a wraparound style and is made in the United States. It comes with two blades and a saw. I don't mind the tightness; it'll break in, and it'll suffice for my shop needs.
