Questions & Answers
I ordered the black blade and pliers one, but it never arrived. My Skeletool was a basic Skeletool with a black handle and a silver blade and pliers. If you're looking for black tools with silver handles, you'll have to look elsewhere.
No, and the clip can't be removed. It's Intercal to the knife, but it's not in the way, and I don't use mine so I don't notice it. It makes no difference whether you're using a knife, pliers, or something else.
The black color is a rust-prevention DLC coating applied to 154CM stainless steel.
Yes, I have one, too...

My first Skeletool vanished, so this is my replacement. This particular one was given to me as a present. The CX had been my previous one. I noticed the blade was wobbling and loose as soon as I opened it. Using a hex driver, I had to tighten it several times. I've also sprayed it with CLP to keep it clean and lubricated. When I contacted Leatherman, they said it sounded like the Locktite that was applied to all of the hex screws at the factory had not fully dried, which could have resulted in this issue. A plastic washer can also be seen between the blade and the hex screw head, which appears to be damaged. This does not sit well with me, and I anticipate a higher level of quality. I would revise this review and hopefully be able to post a positive review if the seller would send me a replacement and then allow me to return the faulty one I currently have.
It's an excellent light source for use around the house. It's small and can tighten things, fix children's toys, open boxes, and so on. br>However, I wouldn't trust it on the road. The Leatherman MUT (outdoor adventures, flying, gun range) is my go-to on-the-go knife, along with a Syderco Para 2 for a good blade. br>br>It's not a heavy-duty tool; rather, it's a small trinket in your pocket that, due to its size and weight, goes unnoticed. I'd go with the cheapest option available (rather than the CX or the fancy steel versions). For around the house, it's the best lightweight multitool I've ever owned. Treat it as if it were a pistol, and use it until you can reach your rifle. br>br>For around-the-house utility, I prefer this to the Milwaukee 5-in-1. 1 Fastback, Kershaw Select Fire, or full-size Leathermans are all options.
This is a very useful small pocket tool. It's also useful. Because it's a cutting pliers, a small knife, a combination straight and Phillips screwdriver, and a Phillips screwdriver, nothing comes close to replacing it. everything in a single package It, on the other hand, does not perform well in any of these areas and is inconvenient to use. Two miserable screwdriver tips, an awkward pliers with a too small cutting edge, and a small knife blade And it's a bit of a hefty little thing. br>br>It is, however, attractive and, as I previously stated, practical. It's something I'd buy again if the opportunity arose. However, I hope for the best.
This tool is an excellent addition to my EDC (everyday carry) kit. Having good pliers and a powerful torque multi-tool is invaluable. For me, the head screwdriver and the blade on this tool were the most important features because I already have a high-quality knife, but the blade on this tool is also very nice. Bette turned out to be a lot better than I had anticipated. br>Except for two minor issues I have with this tool, I would give it a five-star rating.
1. The screwdriver heads are secured in the handle by a small thumb release lock. Even with the lock release engaged, it still pulls out a little too easily.
2. It's comfortable to use, but you have to be careful when opening and closing it because it can easily pinch your hand. br>Overall, I think it's a great addition to my daily tools.
I always have a knife with me that is roughly the same size as this tool. So I switched out my regular knife for the tool, and everything has worked out well so far. Pliers, a screwdriver, and a knife are all very useful tools to have on hand. Some people carry a lot more than I do, but I have a few items in my backpack in case I need them. This is convenient to have in my pocket at all times, and the silver/black color scheme is appealing.
Both the knife and the bit drivers are excellent. The pliers, on the other hand, are a story in and of themselves. While trimming 12 awg wire, one half of the leatherman snapped off, which was a huge disappointment given the price. Look for something that will get a lot of use and will be used on a regular basis.
This device is fantastic value for money. I went with the limited edition black to match my pants better, and it worked out nicely. It fits in my pocket very well, at least as well as the knife I usually carry. It is extremely light in weight. All I need is a knife, pliers, and a screwdriver, and that's it. The blade comes with a razor-sharp edge right out of the box. If I cut a lot, I'd upgrade to the next model with better blade steel, but since I don't, I saved some money and got what I needed.
Stuff of high quality. It contains all of the necessities that I require. To see this leatherman up close and in action, check out the photos and video I posted. This is a purchase that I am extremely happy with. I've given these as gifts before, but I've never had one of my own. This was the first one I purchased for myself, and I'm glad I did. It's a quality tool; sure, you can find cheaper ones out there, but the quality will be lacking compared to this. I use it pretty much every day, from opening boxes to cutting the string that was used to hold the xmas tree on the rough of the car, and so on. I didn't want a bulky leatherman with a lot of tools, so this one is sleek and just right. There are pliers, a knife, and Phillips heads in two sizes, as well as a flathead option. It also has a clip on the end so you can attach it to your belt or use it as a fidget toy like I do when I'm bored. I'm glad I purchased it, and I would strongly recommend not only this product, but also Leatherman as a company!.
