Stunning! I can't stop looking at it! I bought it to replace a Victornox Tinker that I also loved but only carried for a few months before I lost it. Despite being a bit bigger and thicker than the Tinker, I think the Hiker is a better everyday carry because it includes Spyderco Delicas have been in my arsenal for twenty years, as well as Leatherman multitools from time to time. Outside of the possible tactical applications, the Spydercos were not suited to outdoor use, whereas the Leathermans, unavailable for use outdoors, offered plenty of utility The sight job applications, which were so bulky, and lacked the tools I would need for my urban job daily and were so slow to deploy. In contrast, the Hiker and Tinker is the perfect balance of practical tools and a compact design. I find myself reaching for it everywhere I go, and best of all, no one cares when I pull it out like A traditional gentleman's pocket knife, it is the epitome of a professional tool.
The first time I ever had this knife was as a birthday present from my dad when I was around 10 years old. out knowing I wanted a saw blade instead of scissors because I figured in a pinch I can use the knife to cut anything I might need, and the saw blade would help me more to do my work. As a longtime knife owner, I treasure the corkscrew I got with my first knife. In my youth I would have preferred to use a Phillips rather than a corkscrew, and now I think I may wish to use the corkscrew, but my head was clearer when I was younger, so I may find the screwdriver more useful. I love it. As a child, I had this knife on and off, and now I own it once more. The materials never went brittle, and things never broke on me, I lost it a few times or gave it to someone else. When I was young and harder on my tools, this was perfect for me, so it should hold up really well to my older hands now that I am experienced and wiser. As old as this knife is to me, it's like a friend.
The TSA agent at the airport had to take the 40 year old classic swiss army knife away from me I reached for it at least once or twice a day during the two weeks I didn't have one. It truly felt like giving up a part of my soul and my life. Added to that was all the things over the years that I have fixed. Because this model contained the saw blade, I believed it would be useful. The deluxe Victorinox executive penknife with scissors I just received from my Daughter would have been the one I would have bought if my daughter had not given me the saw and scissors version. In fact, I anticipate getting another 30 years of service from this one before I hand it down to my grandson.
It took me nearly two months to get my Hiker knife and I was dissatisfied with how light and hollow feeling the handles have become.
*I have a number of the earliest and most up-to-date The 1980s) Victorinox knives and always keep one with me. This knife is lighter than older knives that had a more solid feel to their handles. It is a beautiful knife and I am sure the metal is as good as it looks. I will keep this knife although I am a little disappointed in the lack of quality that has been exhibited by these fine knives. This is *br. As a whole. Although this is my opinion, if I were going to purchase a knife, I would think more carefully about it before purchasing, and I would want to hold the knife before buying.
Thank you for this. I'm very satisfied. It is one of the best knives you can buy. It has and keeps a good edge, and it sharpens easily. This is good enough for general use and for what I need. Since I have one that has more blades, I wanted a second one that would be smaller and simpler, so I couldn't resist getting a second one. In reality, it is not much thinner and more compact than my other (huntsman), and both are well constructed. All in all, I am very satisfied, wouldn't dream of not having a laptop. Occasionally, these are required to fix or assist with something and there will always be something unexpected As for the first one I ordered, it was lost in shipping, I contacted Amazon first and they replaced it no charge, so I am very grateful for the super service. I worked on shipping some for years, and despite your best efforts you can run into lost or damaged items. I am sorry that we all ran into this snag and let neither the seller nor the shipper or Amazon be held accountable. Thanks for all your help and replacing it. I really appreciate it.
It has a good set of tools and is very compact, yet still very good quality. The quality is almost as good as the ones from Victorinox. There is no solid red plastic on the sides, but it still looks great. The key ring attachment is one detail that has been improved. Compared to the grips on all my other Vics, this one is thicker and perfectly rounded at the edges, so it feels more comfortable in my hand. Due to the large screwdriver's lack of being machined perpendicular to the knife handle when extended, I'm knocking a star off. Despite the lack of quality control, the program is still very useful. If you're looking for a Swiss Army Knife that's a little smaller, take a look at the Tinker Small, the Tourist, or the other 84mm knives.
Rather than how often I've used a SAK in the past, this is my first time. The first tool I used was a leatherman wave, and it's still my go-to tool for bigger jobs, but this is an amazing lightweight tool which packs so much power in such a small package and suits my needs perfectly. As for the cons, I find the can opener to be decent compared to other tools I have had, and that the tools do not As a result, when you purchase this tool, you know what you get. The package is small and lightweight, and everything seems to be of great quality. There are a lot of great features. It's hard not to like the tweezers and toothpick, and the saw is tucked away in an almost invisible place. There were a few things that made it 4 stars, such as a locking tool and a decent can opener, but I'd still buy it again if my original was lost. Each of these items should be in every man's EDC bag.
