Selected User Reviews For Victorinox Swiss Army EvoGrip 14 Pocket Knife, Red, 85mm, Red,Black
I stated in my original review below that while these scissors are sharp and serrated, they are simply not as good as the older Only one exception applies If you zip these up too quickly, they do a great job on your fingers. But for your fingernails, they'd be better off without them. The rough treatment they give them is shocking. Additionally, they do not cut things like small zip ties in the same way as older scissors did. Overall, the serrated blades on the serrated scissors are disappointing, even with the spring, despite the improvement. I would rate this as a five star knife if you don't care about the scissors. The rest of the knife is excellent Victorinox quality. I found this knife to be smaller than other knives I had previously owned of the same brand and style This is about 3/8" shorter than the standard. The nail file is sharp and the knife blade is razor sharp. I have owned Victorinox knives since I was a kid and have used them for over 40 years. The scissors are unlike any other knife I have ever owned. With the new Swiss Army knife scissors you have small serrations on the blades and the cut is a bit rougher than with the old, smooth ones. For nail trimming, I use these and the rougher cut is evident, but with the nail file I don't have any problems. Compared to the old paper thin bit of spring steel that would break and bend, the spring mechanism on the scissors is VASTLY improved. There is an internal spring with a metal lever on it, so it is more of a lever style. Compared to the old smooth handles, the "EvoGrip" is easier to grip. However, the system does not allow me to give it four and a half stars. Rather than the serrated scissors, the only 1/2 star knock I have has to do with how sharp they are. - Do not open the scissors too fast or you could get cut - Open the scissors slowly because they can cut you By zipping the scissor open quickly, I was able to do so. This is an amazing product that is of ridiculously high quality for its price and offers a wide variety of improvements over its predecessors.
The nail file is more important to me than a second knife, so I got this knife even though it is significantly more expensive than It is clear from something about the nail file that the workable part is smaller than those found on regular Swiss army knives. It's also hard to use, since the surface of the file is so close to the body of the knife.
The serrations on the scissors are the subject of some reviews They seem to be better than smooth models in my opinion. By using the roughness of the strings, it makes it much easier to use one hand when it comes to handling light strings and twine. It is very comfortable to use the EvoGrip on each side and you can keep an accurate grip on the knife even if you have wet hands. The knife would be a good EDC for anyone to use, and I highly recommend it.
There are two big regrets I have with this product and both have to do with 1 .
A dented pair of scissors can be used to cut some fabric, however the result will be a cut with .
.
Because the point of the scissors was bent, they were difficult to use for precision cutting.
With my previous knife, I was able to trim my nails with scissors, but that option is not available with this model.
It's a good idea to keep one of these Swiss Army knives in the glove box of your On more than one occasion, it has been useful!.
Normally, a knife has two blades, but this one has only one. What does the longer blade do? This is lame. After grinding it, it became a blade, but it should have been a blade from the beginning.
There were still genuine Swiss steel wheels on all of the good wheels.
I found this to be very useful.
