That is not something I am aware of. A slight contact exists between the end of the file and the top of the knife blade on mine. The problem seems to have been caused by pulling in on the file while it was opened. My guess would be that it is not much of a bother since I did not notice
My best method for sharpening the steel is to use ceramic rods at 25 degrees. It is the best steel on the market, and I had to experiment a bit, but I found that a ceramic rod at 25 degrees gives the best edge.

This might be the best everyday carry companion you've ever had. There has been much said about this iconic tool, but here are a few quick facts You should get your hands on one of these beauties as soon as possible if you don't already have one. This is a decision you will not regret. The longer version of the sentence is as follows The last 30+ years, I have lived on a farmer's farm, in several major cities and suburbs, and have carried at least a dozen tools in my pocket. Over the last few years, I've used this tool in a variety of contexts, from gun ranges to office parks, and I use it almost every day for something in each of those environments. Almost all of a reasonable individual's needs in a modern civilized setting can be met by it. It performs perfectly every time and fits perfectly to most people. Despite the fact that this will not be the prevailing opinion It's never been the goal of this project to provide tools for a construction worker or soldier. (although in those cases, it could still handle a wide range of typical operations' day-to-day tasks as well) Since it is so packable, it makes sense to have two so that a copy is on hand in that event. Right? (Two plus one is one one plus one is none. 2) It truly disappears in the pocket and provides simple, high-level functionality You can rely on your carry system's quality, reliability, and dependability. To be honest, I did not buy this tool for years because I felt I needed a Phillips driver with With the file tool you can drive Phillips heads perfectly, and in a pinch you can also use the can opener tip to drive Phillips heads. In addition to the steel, Victorinox uses a soft-wearing rubber The problem is. This steel blend is durable, so you probably know what you are getting into from previous To keep it sharp, you should hone it every couple of weeks with a steel rod. You should get out the stones only once a year to do it properly. so you can keep your hair looking good - There is a popping or paper-tearing sound I like the sharpness of my carry tools because they tend to be shaving sharp. The advantage of doing a lot less maintenance and retaining it for years would be great. After years of not sharpening my first tinker, I finally finished it. The summary is It offers some of the best value for money that can be found across any modern consumer product. The best-in-class tool you don't have yet will provide you with endless enjoyment and steadfast service for days, months, and years to come. A quick google search tells me it's easily one of my top 10 favorite tools.
The Cadet is my favorite! This is the knife I prefer to carry most of the time, even though I have more than one. To me, the knife is completely adequate for any random cutting task that occurs during the course of a day. To grind off the keyring loop, I used a dremel tool because I don't use a lanyard with this tool, and I find it much more comfortable to hold the Cadet with no loop pressing into my palm as I use it. This knife has a relatively soft steel, so it shows scratches pretty easily, but I do not really care since it is meant to be used, not admired. I have to sharpen the knife blade about once a week with regular use, but the steel can take a To my way of thinking, this knife can handle just about any cutting task you could encounter on a regular basis. Because of the Cadet's ultra-slim profile and light weight, it is easy to carry, ensuring you have it with you at all times. As it is small, I often forget it is there until I need it, so I slip it into the watch pocket of my jeans.
I very rarely feel that something in the $30 range is worth such admiration. As far as fit and finish go, it's better than other knives and multitools I own that are much more expensive. Seeing that the toolset is so well thought out is incredibly satisfying. Although the blade is cheap stamped steel, it can be sharpened quite easily and is not prone to rusting A razor edge that pops. A can opener is not something I rely on much, but it does work well with a #2 Phillips. There are many people who hate the nail file. But, I have found it extremely useful for removing #1 Phillips screws, and it also is a good light-weight tool Tool for plying and use as a duty awl. I have only one complaint that I have about the keyring It's not useful While the can is removable, it digs into my hand when I'm performing heavy work with it- Tools for opening or driving screws. The fan in me does not like it. It would be great if they could make an Alox Cadet that had A SAK holy Grail is what I'm talking about. It's a known fact, but it's their money that makes Vixtorinox more money as people buy multiple models even when they never find the perfect combination. I will carry my alox Cadet + alox Classic until then, or else handle a Leatherman Style/Squirt, if possible.
This is a great pocket knife for everyday Alox scales are thin and tough, and provide much better grip than celidor (plastic) scales on most Swiss army knives. The knife is small enough to fit in your coin pocket and versatile enough to handle all sorts of everyday tasks. thin and has one blade and one tool, as compared to my Victorinox Bantam. It's the 2nd An Alox knife for layer two is thinner than an Alox knife for layer one Layer celidor knife. )
White alox scales are gorgeous, but I wish they were red. It is hard to tell from the photos, but they are shining red anodized. Adding scissors would be the only way to make this knife better. You have to make a Cadet X for us, Victorinox!.
