Closure system that is very common. Hold the knife parallel to the floor with the sharp part of the blade facing up, the handle on the right, and the blade on the left, with the blade on the left and the handle on the right. The belt clip should be on the inside of your waistband, facing you. Place your right thumb on the belt clip and pull the blade lock mechanism (a small notched piece of metal inside the knife handle where the blade will close into) toward your body with your right index finger. Slowly push up on the blade until it folds over while the blade lock mechanism is depressed. BE CAREFUL NOT TO CUT YOURSELF BY MOVING YOUR RIGHT HAND AFTER YOU HAVE MOVED THE BLADE 45 DEGREES. Once you've rotated the blade 45 degrees, the blade lock mechanism will remain open.
Although it does not specify, I believe it is a 220 grit. It's a lovely course, to say the least. It's a very small stone, not your typical size, and I recommend watching videos to learn how to use it because there are several techniques.
There is a serrated piece/bar inside the knife that appears to be pullable. Close the knife and push that to the left; once you've done it once, you'll be able to see how it moves, and it's super simple!

This knife is one of my favorites, but there are a few things to keep in mind: first, it's Damascus, but it's San mai Damascus. That is, this is only a three-layer weld, with two soft metal layers sandwiched between two hardened steel plates. It means that this knife requires little upkeep while maintaining its Damascus finish. The knife's sharpening stone, on the other hand, is extremely coarse. This blade should be sharpened with a smoother stone. Last but not least, the sheath is made of cheap vinyl rather than leather. If you plan to carry the knife every day, I suggest investing in a more durable leather sheath. Overall, this knife is well-made and of reasonable quality. The blade glides open and locks into place with ease. The blade has no play and is razor-sharp out of the box. At the current price, it's a fantastic deal.
Not in the least. This is a very impressive knife, as one would expect from a knife with such a high price tag. Solid, precise, and appealing to the eye. I've seen (and own) knives that are two or three times the price of this one but aren't as well made. br>However, the scope of this review is limited to the contents of the box. It was clear right away that the sheath was not made of genuine leather. Because "leather" has so many definitions these days, businesses can get away with calling their products leather when they aren't. "Bonded leather," "PU Leather," and similar terms, in my opinion, do not constitute genuine leather. That is not the case with this sheath. Rather, it's a vinyl of mediocre quality. br>I can't speak to the sharpening stone because I haven't used it and am unlikely to do so. br>A five-star knife, especially for the price, but a three-star sheath because calling it leather is simply not accurate. br>If you intend to use this knife frequently, you should invest in a top grain leather sheath, as the one that comes with it will not hold up in the field. (In my opinion, it wouldn't look good on display either. ) )br>Sheath or no sheath, I strongly recommend this knife because it is durable, sharp, and attractive enough to be displayed.
Right out of the box, it was stunning and sharp! I enjoy doing a little woodworking, and it's ideal for trimming. The blade's damascus design is gorgeous, and I love how it opens with a spring action. It also includes a sharpening block, which is a nice extra. I would highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a solid everyday knife. br>br>*Update* I've had this knife for about a week now. Apart from a few surface scratches on the blade, I've used it every day. It remains lovely. I'd like to emphasize how much I enjoy carrying this knife every day. I'll keep using it and will provide an update on my thoughts later.

Blade looks amazing, I am not convinced it is 100% Damascus, but it sure is pretty, but it sure is pretty. br>br>I'm not sure how well it would hold up if dropped on a hard surface. I'm afraid the handle is going to snap. This is the only flaw I see with this knife, and is it even a flaw if I've never dropped it to see if it will break? I'm guessing based on my experience with knives that I carry on a daily basis and how they look and feel. If it takes a significant fall onto cement or a rock, I believe it will break. It's up to you whether you want to listen to my opinion or not. br>br>The Damascus style blade, as well as how sharp it is, make this knife well worth the money. If you're looking for something that will last a long time, I believe there are better options or you should read more reviews on how well this handle holds up.

It's not high-quality leather, but I simply figured out which way I wanted the knife to sit in it and worked the leather with the knife in it. I took some forehead oil (off my head -) and applied it to my forehead. patent pending) pressed it into the leather, grabbing it to shape it, and so on. br>br>I'll tell you straight up: this is the best knife set for the money.
This was a Father's Day present for my husband. He currently wields a low-cost folding knife that never maintains an edge. He was smitten by damascus after seeing the show Forged in Fire, but he never imagined he could afford it. This knife is the ideal combination of quality, style, and price. The raindrop pattern is beautiful, and it catches the light beautifully. The knife opens smoothly and has a nice weight to it. It feels good in the hand and isn't cheap in the least. He, too, is a fan of the blade's shape. Very multi-faceted purpose. br>br>I'm so happy I found this knife; it's perfect!.
This knife appears to be quite durable. It appeals to my tastes. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the handle plates' position is slightly off, causing an edge to not line up perfectly with the ends. I simply smoothed it out a bit.
With this folding knife, you're probably getting more than you pay for; the ergonomic handle makes it very comfortable for a M/L hand, the liner lock attaches to the blade well, the spring assist opens the blade smoothly, and the blade is perfectly centered when the knife is closed. br>I can't tell if it's real damascus, but at this price/quality, I don't care. The sheath is made of good quality leather, but I don't like the loop because it makes the sheath dangle a little when worn on the belt. br>I gave 5 stars because the knife deserves it; the sheath loop is a minor issue for me and I don't mind because the knife has a pocket clip.
