I got the full 5 stars since it had more to do with me than with the product.
I am six feet six inches tall and 225 pounds. When it comes to basketball palming, I'm pretty good at it. I went with the Griptillian instead of the bugout because it felt like a toy in my hand. The only regret is not doing it sooner!.
The review is being updated after owning this pocket knife for a week I need to remove a couple of stars. Scales have a coarse edge from the factory, and I can notice it quite easily. It turns out the knife has a blunt edge hidden in the plastic that digs into your palm when opening it. It also turns out the blade has very noticeable play (moves from side to side) when open and very little play when closed (it A blade grind may be rough, but that is something I am willing to ignore. Although the price is relatively low, I think the quality should be higher. The Benchmade Benchmade Bugout was not what I expected when I ordered it.
———I was a bit apprehensive when I ordered it. In the blink of an eye, I was amazed to see a pocket knife with a perfectly centered blade, razor sharp, and so light - as if it had just been ripped from an ancient scroll. This knife seems so light to me I never even imagined it was possible! The phone literally disappears in my pocket, and I can't feel it at all! The feel of quality and durability is top-notch as well. Great experience with this purchase. Will definitely keep an eye out for more Benchmade products in the future.
A friend of mine told me about the new updated handle for the Bugout, so I purchased it. My goal is to get a stronger handle, so I decided to give it a try. Two years ago, I got a Super Freek 560 as my EDC, and now I'm going to replace it with this My initial thought after receiving the Bugout was to make a sort of non-official comparison. As soon as I put them in my pocket, I ran around my house to check how they felt and how heavy they were. With both knives, I cut an apple, tried different handles and mechanisms as I moved them from open to closed. Bugout is a great little knife and I tried my best to find a reason to keep it, but I just couldn't convince myself to keep Comparatively with the Freek, I found it to be "cheap" in my hand. The weight has been reduced by two. My original 5 oz shirt was a bit lighter, but I had no trouble feeling the difference in my pocket. Since the handle on the Freek is bigger and more ergonomic, the Freek slices an apple as well as a knife. It would be more durable to use the Freek for heavy use. As I considered my options, I realized that I shouldn't use a knife that has a few disadvantages when I can use a knife that is far more robust. I would choose the freek over the bugout regardless of whether it's for gym gear or not. In order to avoid this situation, I returned the bug out and bought.
This is my first Benchmade knife and I'm sure not my last. The knife is so light you hardly feel it when you hold it, while at the same time it's very sturdy and solid. A flawless locking mechanism and razor sharp surfaces make this phone a pleasure to use. It took me a significant amount of time and grinding to get the knife at the level of sharpness I like. If you're on the fence about buying this knife, I suggest jumping on it now. You.
It is a good lightweight knife, but there are quality control issues that The blade was not centered at all and might even have It had to be returned and a new one ordered. There's a lot of potential for improvement with the next one.
The blade is very sharp. It locks in to place perfectly with zero movement. The only reason I am not giving this product a five is that the handle is on the thin side which digs into my hand with prolonged use (easy to fix All in all, I'm very satisfied with the performance of the program.
Overall I have had a pleasant experience with this knife. I travelled with this knife, along with a Randall 15 model, overseas. A flight attendant. These knives were not baby-proofed and both were intended to be "working knives. ". One thing I have to say about "Bugout" is that it sounds terrifying.
The blade is awesome, thick and sturdy, with an awesome CF handle and Axis lock. The steel is S30V and ideal for slicing and sharpening. Originally I had one that had edge bevels around 20 degrees, but I have now lowered it to 17 degrees and it is now one of the very best slicing EDC folders on earth.
