Questions & Answers

If the picture shows the blade to have a smooth spine, then Amazon should inspect their product. I know that the blade has a sharp edge?

A smooth back can be found on the spine There is, however, a sharp edge to the spine. This is perfect for using with a Fero Rod for throwing sparks.

When pointing one way or the other, does the blade maintain its solid grip in the sheath? Would you mind telling me whether it has the ability to use the platic sheath in the left hand?

I greet you. In either situation, a secure lock is obtained and the card does not slip out. A Multi Sheath is the same as a single sheath. No matter how you hold it, you can use it either left- or right-handed. It does not have a Morakniv logo on either side of the blade, which is my only concern about the knife I purchased. Some of my friends have the same knife, and all of them carry the same When I contacted Mora, they stated they do not sell any unmarked knives since they do an inspection on each knife. Like the others, it shares a boxing style, build, weight, and a tendency to keep an edge. Despite the lack of the logo, I would still recommend this knife. I use mine but I There will be no need to replace it for a very long time.

Do the pictues knife sheaths have a belt hook, so that you can attach them to your belt like a regular knife sheath?

Two types of sheath attachment are available for the knife. One can be attached to a belt loop, while another molle loop can be attached to a harness.

When the blade is in the sheath, does it stay in place no matter which way it faces?

A moderate amount of retention is provided by

Steel is Swedish, innovations are Swedish, and quality is Swedish
5/5

It was long anticipated by Morakniv customers to receive this Garberg carbon steel knife. The first version of this product was made from stainless steel Sandvik Because Morakniv wanted to make sure the carbon version was right, it took them longer to set up manufacturing processes. It's difficult to take these knives seriously at first -- they look a lot like kitchen knives. When you take a closer look, however, the steel is thicker, the blade is sharper, and the handle is simply incredible. While the Benchmade Bushcrafter is a fine bush craft, I have an itch to try something new The Garberg knife is a better option around a knife. What's the reason? Garberg's handle is much easier to hold, and it features a hoop for extra length to help you balance There is no escaping the fact that. . . With a rubberized handle instead of one made of G10 scales, you can clean the handle much more easily after a hard field dressing job. A knife like this is not a weapon for fighting A knife is designed to perform 99% of the tasks that knives In those forests where you don't have a wooden axe or portable saw, you can even baton with it if you don't feel like prying open the trunk. It is available with either the Molle or the Velcro attachments The sheath can be attached or it can be leather. The Molle-compatible bag you order can also be ordered with a "dangler", allowing you to attach the pouch I believe this is one of the best knives on the market for woods work. I recommend you wear it on your belt as well. It would be this knife that I would take to the woods if I had only one!.

This is not for everyone, but it will make a great knife in time
4/5

When you give this knife time and patience, it will be a superb knife, but it could have been an outstanding knife from the start. This is the first impression of the Garberg, it feels great in the hand, it has a great weight, the blade is thick, it has a nice square spine, but wow! There are no sharp edges on this knife. In fact, it's a Scandi grind, not dull at all. My recommendation is to return this Morakniv Garberg if I didn't already have a good collection of bench stones and strops. I know that with a couple of hours work this will be a great If you're not prepared to spend the time finishing and polishing a Scandi grind or are settling for a secondary bevel regardless of whether you care about the Scandi grind. This is IMHO, a huge Morakniv fail. Update, with pictures I've finally gotten the Garberg to With a stropped edge, I polished the Scandi grind to a nice field polish. I saw it as an enjoyable side effect of my hobby, worth the extra effort. Nevertheless, the title of this book states that it is not for everyone. Having this information in hand might help you decide.

I changed my rating from 2 to 4. We are glad to be able to work with the Garberg. I haven't had to make any adjustments to it in many years, and it's pretty low-maintenance. When used within the limits of its purpose, it takes an edge in a reasonable amount of time and keeps the edge for a long time. In order to get sparks from a good ferro rod, the square spine will rain them down. With this knife, you get a lot of knife for your.

I agree that it is overpriced, but the quality is decent As if that weren't bad enough, the butter knife arrived dull
3/5

The knife was really dull when it was delivered. The price I paid for it was 90 dollars, so I am dissatisfied. If you're paying that much money, you'd expect a razor sharp knife. I guess we can just call that a Mora knife with a full tang, but for 2 to 25 cents It is exactly the same quality as knives offered at a lower price point, but costs 3 times as much. As a long as one ignores the complaints, it's a solid knife, maybe a bit more robust than other Mora's I've tried, and it feels good in the hand. I think it'll be a good This will only be the case when it has a decent edge.

The stainless steel version is just as good
5/5

Stainless steel is as good as the carbon steel version, but with more benefits. As of 2016, I have one stainless knife and I use it regularly. I now have a stainless knife and a regular knife. Leather and metallic materials make a stylish statement Both the mount and the mount are There is no wrong choice when it comes to This knife is yet another outstanding one, and I recommend it highly.

This knife is excellent for survival and bushcraft
5/5

It provides excellent value for It is carbon steel, and as such it needs to be kept in good condition, but it is also easy to resharpen in the field, and it turns out to be very sharp indeed. There is a ferro rod striker on the spine, and you can use it to scrape wood dust with, and if you strike it with a flint it produces a spark. Mole mounts are very useful, there are simple how-to videos that show how to mount one, including how to use one with a belt loop, but some people dislike them. As I have the leather mount as well, I like it, too, but I feel that the mole mount is better suited to a multitude of uses.

You can't go wrong buying this knife if all you care about is that it's an amazing knife that you'll enjoy for the price you paid
5/5

However, if you want details, it has some particular powers, and has a couple of weaknesses as well. I love this knife and for the price, you couldn't get a better one for almost any type of outdoor activity, from survival to camping to hunting. The pros are I like how well it came packaged and how well it came in good Although the sheath is a bit confusing to work with, it is of Although very sharp, it fell just short of a shaving razor's edge. The handle has a great feel and is a great weight. The spine would be great for fire starters. And the coating is high quality. Nothing scratched it, and after oiling it it looked like new. The scandi grind is perfect, with awesome geometry as well. I was able to split and chop hardwood with this knife without any problem, and the tip is incredibly durable. This knife has a good handle. The full tang makes it heavier and gives the knife great heft. I found that the tip of my blade was slightly misaligned with the blade (not very important)
The blade took two very small fragments/chips while using it against very hard wood, which is very common. These are not visible but can be felt
The carbon steel is amazing for edge retention and sharpness but needs to be oiled and looked after so that it does not rust
The sheath is strong and very sturdy but difficult to set up and overly complicated.
