Questions & Answers

The 546 is larger than the 511, why is that?

Stainless steel is used as the blade for the 546, while high carbon steel is used for the 511.

Are there any examples of this being used for deer processing? Do you know how it performs?

There are ten things I do each day The average whitetail deer population is 15 each year. Whenever I gut, skin and quarter a game bird, I use Mora 511 carbon knives and Mora 546 stainless knives. In order to process the rest of the animal, my wife uses boning knives. As far as my part is concerned, both of the Mora models are excellent. Carbon and stainless are very similar, however I find that stainless retains its edge for a much longer period of time than carbon, contrary to common perception. In my opinion, this is due to the fact that deer hides often contain small pieces of abrasive dirt, and stainless steel is very durable in abrasive environments because of its chrome content. The Mora stainless steel has a fine grain structure that enables you to sharpen to almost the same degree of fineness as carbon (fine enough for shaving It is not crucial which steel is used for this application, but mine holds the edge better in abrasive environments due to its longer durability.

Can you tell me whether this is a true scandi grind or if it has ?

With its true "Scandi grind", this knife truly belongs in the Scandinavian kitchen. My knife is great for household utility purposes. It's very sharp. I use it as a general purpose kitchen knife. This was my very first Moraknife and it was absolutely worth every penny. It has a very good plastic sheath that clips easily to a pocket or waistband. My initial buying of this product was great, and I have bought multiple variations since then.

A 546 stainless steel is more expensive than a Pro S stainless steel, why?

It is possible that the price will differ

These knives are terrific for the price
5/5

They are just perfect for the price. There's no doubt about it, it's fantastic. All of them are great to me and I have a lot. These knives are great, and I will probably buy more of them as a result of having a problem, but that does not change the fact that they These gloves are of superior quality, are comfortable, and will do any job you need to have Have a great hold on an edge. The "finish is not good enough" is a complaint made by some Polish marks or something like that are to blame for the subpar quality of the item. Oh, come on, start growing a pair of nads, you girls. you wish to show off to impress your friends, choose nail polish and jewelry that aren't too loud. It will be an amazing experience for them. If you're looking for a knife that will perform well and is sturdy and high-quality, the Moras are an excellent choice. When it comes to price, they are hard to beat. In addition to Bucks, Schrades, Cases, Kasbars, and ton of other expensive knives, I also collect high priced collectibles. There is no "better" Mora than any of them. You can throw this knife at a deer if you seem to miss shooting it, if you ever get mad and kick it as you throw your gun. In addition to this, you can get them in bright orange as well. The process of finding them is also much easier when you look for them. I just thought you'd like to know.

The knife is an excellent purchase for the price
4/5

The price of this knife is low enough for use as an outdoor work blade without being concerned These are good fixed blade knives. I have purchased several of them. These models are the orange and green Companion models, but they were slightly longer blades, as well as the metal #546-Stainless Basic Craftline, carbon steel #511 Basic, and stainless steel Craftline Pro. I got each of them because I wanted to feel and see the differences for myself, and they were all within a few dollars of each other, so their prices were great. The ones I like the most are all the same. As far as the shorter models go, I prefer the bright orange handle on the 511 Basic for easy finding it in the grass or at night, or in the bottom of the emergency car kit, but when it comes to comfort, the Craftline Pro with an overmolded rubber grip is my favorite. In our three vehicles, each of the shorter ones can be found in the emergency kits, you never know when an emergency might arise and you'll need a good fixed blade knife. My wife and I will be able to use the two Companions to work around the house, like in the garden and in the landscaping. When I was heading off into the wilderness of Alaska, would I choose these bags? Even though I may take one along for light duties, I would rely more on a more robust full-tang knife if I was on the go. In addition, they all came razor sharp, so watch your fingers. It's not always easy to keep a good grip while removing the knife from its sheath, which was another benefit to the overmolded rubber grips on the Companions and Craftline Pros. They all have an area raised to put your thumb on to help you pull the knife from the sheath, but they don't seem to be very effective.

There is no such thing as disposable My friends get so excited when I give them these knives because they are such a great deal
5/5

Besides my pocket knives, it is the only knife I use around the house that I don't think twice I don't worry about the price tag if it walks away or if it breaks. In the unlikely event that it breaks, I just buy another one without thinking The number I have at this point is about five or six of these throughout the house, and I've bought another six or seven to give away It was decided by a more sensible person in my house that I should not be offering these.

I can't believe what a knife that is! Even though I am not a professional chef, I also love to cook vegetarian meals! I have been using some cheap knives that I purchased from Walmart
5/5

Although these knives are not expensive, the price we pay speaks for itself. Sometimes it is difficult to chop hard veggies such as Beets, pumpkin skin, radish, etc. Yet, I had a cool knife that served me for almost 2 years before it broke due to pressure. This very much broke my heart because I loved it so much. In this case, I didn't wanna buy another cheap knife and wanted to go for a much better one! So I went through amazon and found this "Morakniv Craftline Basic 546 Fixed Blade Utility Knife," which had great reviews and was also on sale. It sounded interesting, so I decided to try it. The package arrived only 2 days ago and I was blown away! What I call "THE KNIFE" is what I call "THE MATCH". With its skin removed, I was able to chop the whole pumpkin in just 8 minutes. It was incredibly sharp and smooth at the same time! It has never occurred to me to see such a knife in my life, let alone at such a low price. It is well-built, with a cool handle that has a nice grip on it! am able to cut vegetables in no time and this is tempting me to turn to the kitchen and try new veggie delights!.

It's a good all-around utility knife that's simple, rugged, and extremely a person ask of a knife? Morakniv knives had a tendency to multiply after a while
5/5

When I first bought one, I was curious about its quality for its price - good, but not great. Having read your review, I was blown away. Then a few weeks later and a half-year later Several of them are tucked away in corners of my workshop, in my toolbox, in survival kits in my cars, on my boat, and even in the interior of the house I always have a tang survival knife with me The handbag. This is a great little knife of high quality. As compared to other knives and tools kept in the same area, this knife has a simple design, is rugged, has a good edge, and seems resistant to rusting. In comparison to the rubber band, the plastic casing is simple, but manages to serve its purpose. The only thing I dislike is that the belt clip keeps falling off when you try to attach it to the.

This is incredible! I was surprised at the quality of this knife
5/5

The resulting razor sharpness was remarkable. They came in five different colors to give as gifts to my niece and nephew. I liked the design so much that I had to have it. Their love for them was unconditional. There is enough space on the handles for them to manage safely and easily. Having one for myself to use, I was impressed with their quality. I did keep one for myself, just to see if it was as good as I heard. The blade is razor-sharp after a lot of use without sharpening. My own has not yet been put through serious abuse. Obviously, it won't hold up to that much abuse, but it will probably be fine if I need it to. As someone who has bought a lot of cheap knives, I find that this is far superior to any $30-$40 knife The sporting good store is offering a special of $40 made in China.

Whenever I need it, I keep it in my tool box
5/5

As much as I use it every day, I bought three more. In fact, I keep it in my toolbox. Having one for my truck, one for my kitchen (utility, not cooking), and one for an tackle box (stainless) is ideal. Also, I received a companion bag for my hunting kit and a robust bag for my backpacking gear. There may be a problem with me.
