Questions & Answers

It looks like the sheath is formed from kydex or nylon. Is there a pocket on the nylon sheath?

It's actually glass reinforced nylon - it looks and feels like nylon, but it wears out your blade over time. I recommend the bk22 instead because it comes with a nylon sheath with a pouch or you can get one aftermarket. a carry sheath from Armatus and am very happy with both the knife and the

In what ways does it compare with the Sk How many Blackbird survival knives do you have?

In comparison with the BK2, Blackbird is better, but it isn't quite as thick as it. Due to the superior design of the Blackbird knife, and its superior metal, I think it is the best blade among the two. In my experience, the SK5 was less sharp than a BK2, so if you're not the type of guy who can sharpen a knife, this is not the knife for you. My BK5 always gets the right edge after I get the right edge on it and I never resharpen It is pretty awesome to have steel of S30v.

A few days ago, I received a new BK2 and noticed the manufacturer's information. It seems that the information is printed on the coating and not stamped into the steel, is this a fake or legitimate Do you have an off switch?

With the release of the new BK16, BK15, and BK17 last year, KaBar received a laser engraver. As opposed to rolling stamping, that has now become their standard method. The product is from KaBar/Becker. * It is still slightly rusted. When I strip all my Beckers, there are still visible marks on the three I have with the new laser etchings. If you want, you can use PCB etchant to make the groove deeper before you strip the PCB. It has been done for years by the ESEE guys. I'm expecting ETA. Another change was the use of a different Smooth black has been replaced by textured black. The new coating is MUCH tougher than the old one, and it looks better as well. Even with stripping it, I still do it

XL is the size of the gloves that I wear. Is there anyone able to tell me if I can comfortably hold the bk2's grip?

On the handle of my gloves I have enough room. I wear XL gloves. It won't be a problem

It's a great knife, but is it a great knife It's likely that you have read all the specs and other reviews by now, so I'll just share my opinion on this knife

Bottom Line There is no perfect survival knife. If you need to split wood, buy an axe instead. When you need to skin game, carve wooden tools, make traps, slice veggies for camp dinner, etc. buy a smaller, more maneuverable knife. When you need to exit a falling building after an earthquake or other unexpected disaster, carry a wrecking The first thing you should do during the apocalypse is get a gun since that will be your main weapon against zombies and bad guys. It wouldn't be practical to carry all of those tools around all the time, but if you needed to perform those tasks in a pinch, it would be a good choice the Ka-Bill BK2 is a very good choice for a bar. The only exception would be fighting A knife that weighs this much would be a huge disadvantage in live combat, unless you were fighting zombies or a sedated "Peter Griffin" from Family Guy. Thus, I would like to say that this knife is quite I feel confident and reliable when I touch it. With the blade angle, this tool can be used for a variety of purposes. The blade steel is of excellent quality. In searching for a knife with a blade length of 4, I was looking for a blade length of From 75 to Approximately 25 inches. Designed for carry-on luggage in an EDC In an emergency, the knife was supposed to be able to handle a variety of survival tasks both in cities and in the country. If you are wondering what knife you should use for survival bushcraft, here is one that is perfect The structure. Reviewers on survivalist forums criticised the length of the blade for limiting the number of smaller logs that can be batoned. Its not clear what kind of shelters are being built that require the processing of logs thicker than 5 inches. This is a circle of You are probably also a chainsaw owner if you have the time and energy to build a LOG CABIN in a SURVIVAL situation. You can cuddle with a pet unicorn once your log cabin has been built as moral support. If you are among the rest of us and need to budget your time and energy during such a situation, this knife is a good choice. As a conclusion It is great because it is good for many things, but it is not great for one thing in particular. (Read that again if you must)

It's a fantastic buy for travelers who, for whatever reason, have to carry only a single small knife, in a carry on bag, but are not too bothered by the weight. Do yourself a favor and obtain a knife (or knives) designed for the specific purpose of a given situation if you are planning on being in that situation and have the resources to do so. All in all, This is an awesome knife, but is it an awesome knife.

There is no doubt that many of the positive reviews on this item are coming from people who very rarely use working knives. This knife has a number of points that I find to be lacking
1. When it arrives, it is dull as a result of the packaging. There is some resistance, but it gets through warm butter. 3.
Black paint is so thick that you cannot spark a ferro rod by touching the spine.
3. Despite the coating, the manufacturer has done an inept job of bladesmithing. A lot of holes and imperfections are evident in the steel. The fourth point. Unless you intend to actually use this knife and sweat with it, the scales are of no use. It's no wonder they are so slick. Note 5. Sheaths imported from faraway countries are nothing more than substandard The amount I spent on getting it in working order was as much as what it cost me to buy it. As a result, I did these things A new scale was installed. 3.
The thick coating was removed. 1. 2. 3.
4. Ground the spine at a sharp 90 degree angle. You should make sure the blade has a real razor-sharp convex edge. Note 5. Vinegar was used to create a patina on the entire surface. This is 6. Added a steel belt loop to replace the useless nylon loop. I would say that you can use this knife as a fun project knife, but if you need to have a knife right out of the box, you might want to spend a little more money on.

This is a quality knife

I did a lot of research before I bought it. Everything pointed to The shorty was my first attempt at getting the KaBar, but I really wanted it. Despite the knife's good looks, I was less than thrilled with it. That one was much smaller than I was expecting, so I returned it to get this one. The knife is really nice. I hadn't realized how big it was - it's really good! It has a solid handle and is nice and wide. Thick and heavy, the coating seems to be made of steel. The picture is sharp, but not quite as sharp as I expected, which can easily be rectified. Yes, the nylon isn't great for the sheath, but this is a large knife I purchased for use in the woods, camping, and hunting, so I won't use it as my everyday carry. In the same vein as the other reviews, I would like to add The blade is thick and wide and I am 5'9" with slightly big hands and this knife feels just right to me. It's maneuverable, heavy, sharp, and not a knife I will have to baby. 75 dollars for a knife seemed much for what I was getting, I wasn't sure what it was going to be. The price seems fair. I am not sure what else you can get for more (ESEE, spyderco, etc) except different metals with all kinds of science hidden within that makes it intriguing, but not really necessary. The knife I bought for the price is one of the best knives you can get and I felt like I was getting a lot for the money I spent.

The knife I have been using for years was purchased This is a story I would like to share with you. My experience in the army has taught me not to buy cheap items that will break within months. As soon as I got into bushcraft after the army, I set my sights on finding indestructible materials. Items that are best suited Until I found this BK2, I destroyed so many knives that I'm not even sure how many I've destroyed. To tear this knife, I have tried to baton logs with a heavy hand, not baton logs with my fingers. My friend means I used it to wedge my butt against the rock face in order to haul it over. It took all of my 250 pounds to make it. In order to find out how much it trusts me, I left it at the bottom of my kayak. Not a thing. In the past, I've thrown it at rocks, cars, and trees. The knife has been used like an axe to chop up old fence wire. There are latrines in river gravel that I have dug. It has been 2 years since I first handled this knife, and it has received nothing but hate from me. I was in love with it, and I still am. Despite all the hell I've been through, it is the most reliable thing I have ever held in my hands. I had it engraved and fitted it with the most beautiful micarta handle. My wife ordered one as well, so our son can have one like his dad. I hope they will enjoy them and I hope they will too. It is the kind of knife you will never regret buying.
