Questions & Answers
One liter of water is filtered per minute by the unit. There is a chance that you can filter up to 50,000 liters of water before a replacement is required (depending on the quality of the water).
The presence of specific conditions is required for the desalination of water without the use of a filter. A distillation process can be used to desalinate water. To separate salt from water, you would need an extremely fine filter and very high pressure to move the water through it.
It is true that we have replacement filters. My sincere thanks
You’ll need a filter with some type of charcoal in one of its stages to deal with chemicals. This feature is not available on the Pocket. There is no correlation between the size of the filter and the micron size. My sincere thanks

Works just as described. Good product, lousy shipping service. I bought it after reading numerous reviews and went ahead and bought the charcoal filter for better taste. The only problem I had was that there was a wait of about two weeks before it was Tracking the package, I noticed that it had been left at several facilities for quite some time. The last time I checked, it had been at a facility about an hour away for quite some time. In fact, almost jumped in my car when we were about to leave camping, so I could pick it up. You should expect them to ship it in 2 or 3 days mail for the price that you pay (almost $400).
The device is easy to clean, easy to store, and easy to use. I also appreciate how solidly built it is. In my opinion, it's worth the extra money for all of these features. In my first attempt to purchase a filtration system, I purchased the Katadyn Vario Water Filter in an attempt to save a few dollars. Moreover, I was amazed at the speed at which the Vario pump out clean water (see figure 1- It produces between 2 and 3 quarts per minute, depending on the setting). There is, however, one major flaw in the Vario's design. There were too many times when I broke the hose outlet connector, I discovered, and I broke it just trying to get the hose disconnected from There should never be a situation like that. I also had to take up a little more space in my pack due to the bulk of the Vario, despite it being lighter in weight. Although the Pocket is heavier, it's thinner and more solidly built. I believe it to be the best filter out there right now. Compared to the Vario, it is so much easier to clean. Additionally, it is amazing how long it lasts. When it comes to speed, the Pocket is the one to get. I have already used it twice and I never feel like it takes forever to My camelbak holds 1 liter of water, and I carry a 3 liter one. This device will hold 5-liters of liquid with ease and with little effort. If the Vario is not the right product for you due to its price point, I suggest you spend the extra $0. 50 for something that is much easier to use and will last you a lot longer. The quality of your purchase is determined by the price you pay.
A Katadyn is the gold standard in water filtration bags that are easy to pack. It will pay for the entire purchase price in a few years simply by being able to clean the ceramic cartridge. If you have a poor water source, a disposable filter cartridge will clog to the point that it is virtually useless, but this Katadyn Pocket Water Filter can be disassembled and cleaned in just a few minutes. The metal clip on your water bottle to mount the outlet hose is a good idea as well. I had already purchased a backup Quick Connect fitting that I could use to directly fill my 3L bladder, so this was the only addition to the package that I needed. I have purchased four water filters so far. A Sweet Water I bought in 1997 or 1998 was the only other one I liked. I had a cleanable ceramic cartridge for that product as well, but MSR acquired the company and eventually discontinued it. When the spare cartridge broke and the plastic pump wore out, I bought a disposable filter with When I plugged a cartridge filtering water from a very poor water source into my Katadyn pocket filter, I resolved to invest in it. The little amount of water that pumped through it rendered a $50 cartridge very difficult to use and I had to get a new one. I promise not to do it The Katadyn Pocket Water Filter is a bit heavier and does not produce as much water per stroke as the Nedap, but those drawbacks are so negligible in comparison to what it offers. I am going to give my Back to School Pro Tip The prefilter (strainer) needs to be washed. The filter mesh shall be covered by a bowl of water. Remove the Prefilter and place it in a bowl of water. Once the hot water has been forced into the connector, stop it. I cleared the prefilter of an expedition's worth of crud with this, and it looks perfect.
This is an excellent recommendation. The timing is perfect. The whole thing runs smoothly. There was some crumpling of the packaging on the way, but this is not very serious. My sincere thanks go out to.
This is primarily for our emergency kit, but it can also be used The product is made well (mostly of.
An extremely durable design and simplicity of use makes this a great choice. This would be a good choice if you don't mind an extra ounce or two in your pack and have peace of mind that you will have clean water when you are in the back country. Additionally, this would be a good option as a bug out bag.
There is nothing like it in the world of There has been none. There is nothing else you should spend your money on.
