MSR gravity feed and Sierra Designs both make them, so I guess they are the same. The platypus filter as well as the MSR have both been used by me. The bottom line is that neither one filtration system will filter the amount of water they claim to, even after it has been washed once. On the other hand, they might, but at the end of the day, your water will be flowing so slowly that you're likely to get annoyed and purchase a new You won't have the full 1000 gallons listed for your filter. I love it, but I doubt you will.
Considering the structure of the elements, I believe it will not be possible to dry it. You can do the same thing on the dirty side by soaking it in chlorine-bleach solution and flushing it once more*br>4. as much air as you can, both ways, to clear out the liquid as much as you can. Make sure you're not getting bleach droplets all over your clothes - bleach spills and splatters while we use I did not clean my clothes after washing them)
As long as the dimensions of the tubing are the same, it could be used instead of any gravity filter. Moreover, the cartridge is the entire filter element, so tubing is directly attached to the It does not have a casing inside of which to fit.
A filter change is every other year for us. We use ours every I have not experienced any issues with the cable being plugged in. Water flow starts to slow as a result of the change.

A complete system was ordered for me to take on a cycle The Washington D. C. area is home to a camping trip. It's time to get to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We had water along our route that had been iodine treated and that came from pump wells that contained some rust sediment. It was truly amazing to see the water go from a cloudy green to crystal clear, and it did remove the taste of iodine. After filtering approximately 10 gallons of water, the filter became clogged. Even after doing the appropriate number of backflushes to clean the filter, I did not think that this product lived up to its advertising. In the presence of sediment (such as rust from a well or small amounts of sand gathered from a river), the filter becomes clogged easily and no longer allows water to flow freely through it. In the end, I needed to order this second filter before my three-week trip was over. Is efficient at doing its job when it is successful at it. It is a very expensive filter and I feel that it should have lasted longer than when I bought it. If the company is willing to provide me with one free filter to make up for the one I feel should have lasted longer, I will contact them. Even though this device serves its purpose for a short time, I intend to continue to use it. In working condition, it performs the duties it is supposed to perform.
Despite my aversion to this system, I tried really hard to love it. During a backpacking trip in the Backcountry, I was disappointed when this filter failed after ten liters of stream water. The manufacturer's instructions for backflushing were followed, as well as ensuring that the room stayed warm during freezing nights and was cleaned prior to long-term In an area so far away from civilization, it is disappointing that these are so expensive for such problems.
The hands-free bag system worked great for me on backpacking trips of a week or more. They proved to be fast when they were new. My two filters failed after relatively limited use (22 days in total). A freezing related problem probably caused them. slept with them in my bag over the course of the night when in freezing temperatures, but left them in my pack when hiking in freezing temperatures early in the morning. It was still possible to pass water through the filters but the process was very slow. A test of blowing air back through the filter to determine if it was functioning indicated that it was (I'm curious about the failures with the Platypus filters) I plan to choose another Platypus filter to test its durability. In preparation for my next backpacking trip, I picked up a Sawyer Squeeze.
My plan is to make my own filter system with this. In addition to my Platypus bladders, I have made one dirty bag and one clean bag from them. It is the right size for the nipples on the filter, so the tubing comes with it, and it fits very snugly. The same thing happened to me with this purchase.
