The replacement hose is not available for purchase at this time. It will take a couple of weeks.
The weight is 7 ounces.
I came across something similar and have no idea what it is. The white one is for the bag, while the black one is most likely for connecting to a "clean" water storage bag.
Although it is not open, it is simple to collect water.

I took this item on a serious Backcountry adventure. It works well for filtering water for a large number of people, but it was hung about 10 feet downwind of our fire one night, and any water that came in the next day was unfit to drink. People were getting sick because the rubber on the container had picked up so much smoke flavor. When I got home, I tried a variety of cleaning methods, but none of them worked, so I had to throw it away. If it picks up off flavor that easily, I believe it is a major issue. If you're planning on going for a week with a big group, I'd bring a backup. I'll keep my MSR if I'm alone.
This filter system is ideal for backpacking. Lightweight and straightforward. Pump systems are one of the few systems that can break or clog. It's fantastic that the filter can be swapped out for different water bottles. Suitable for two people. 3 people. Downside: Because this is a gravity feed system, it is slower than others, and if you aren't near a tree, expect to hold it up for a long time.
This was used on a seven-day hunt in Alaska to see if we could go the entire trip without bringing any water. This filter system was extremely effective and never let me down.
Used for three purposes. On the Olympic coast (PNW), we went on a family backpacking trip for a day. It was simple to use and worked well. When we got home from the cleaners, it took a few days to dry out, but that was no big deal. It was a lot of fun for the kids to fill it up in the stream. At camp, I hung the strap from a tree branch. This is extremely useful.
This was used by my husband and son with their scout troop (crew of 9) and it worked perfectly. There was a slight metallic taste to the water in the photo, but he wasn't sure any filter would be able to remove it (it was his only clear water bottle). They had no trouble filtering both well water and turbid stream water. After a few uses, the filter slowed down, but it still managed to empty the bag in under three minutes. After more than a month, everyone is in good health. Worth it.
This concludes the discussion. In just three minutes, it filters three quarts. 4 min. The only disadvantage I can think of is that it would quickly clog glacial streams.
On my JMT trip, I used this filter and it worked perfectly. The flow is good, it's easy to clean, and it fits nicely in my outer pocket for quick access. This, in my opinion, outperforms the Sawyer filter. I'm hoping it will last for a long time!.
I've used a lot of gravity-based water purifiers. This is a fantastic example. It's not only affordable, but it's also easy to use and compact. The pacing is superb! 1 liter of water It's also simple to take care of. This is a great item to keep in your camping bag, backpack, or emergency kit in your car.
