Since the fabric is a bit thin, you can see that it isn't very durable. As I wore it through the reinforced area, it was quite sturdy. Mud is good for this product, but rocky terrain and difficult terrain will not hold up. In previous ankle gators I owned from REI, the fit was not as well as these, but the REIs wore out at the strap, rather than the upper fabric, and they logged plenty of miles on Long Trail and the White Mountains. My new gators have holes now, so I have two new gators I am disappointed. Several days ago, I emailed Moxie Gear via their website to let them know my experience prior to writing this review. I expected them to offer a replacement, but as of now I have not heard back from them, that is demoralizing for a customer. Silence on the radio.
