Questions & Answers

How long has this product been manufactured in the United States?

In short, yes.

What is the difference between the old and new version of the pouch?

In the white pouch, the recipe has been reformulated to eliminate artificial colors, flavors, and ingredients and to replace them with natural ones

This seems outrageously expensive for just one meal - can it really be $29 for one meal?

There have been scalpers out there because of the pandemic, and prices are supposed to be around $9. In the event that the Amazon seller is asking for more than 9, If you want to buy from MH directly, try it

How do you prepare the meals if using the microwave at home?

That is not possible. As for the heating of the water, I would use the Microwave, and then add it to the product. I am worried that the packaging may not be ok with the Microwave. It has been observed that people on the trail add water to their lunches around lunchtime, which seals them up well. As the day wore on, the heat from the whole day warmed them up over the course of dinner. Take a look. After a difficult day of hiking, I enjoyed this flavor a lot and it made me feel good after eating this meal.

The taste is excellent, but the calories and cost are prohibitive A packed lunch
4/5

This product is gluten-free. Having spent a great deal of my life backpacking, hiking, camping, and scouting in wilderness areas, storing emergency food or lighter meals are thus a major aspect of my life, especially when they are able to be stored for Food saved in a dry form. It is a delicious, delicious meal packed with calories that is ideal for survival or backpacking.

Like many Mountain House meals, it is a quick and easy preparation and it tastes great. This is true for freeze-dried foods as well The food they produce is dry and can last decades. They are excellent as emergency foods. There are two major points to consider hot water is not always readily available and cost can be considerable There is a price to pay for them. Even so, I love Mountain House food when I eat out It consists of Take a bite to eat. FROZE IS A SETTING IN WHICH THE FLOW OF H2O IS DRIVEN OFF How about a meal that has been fried? I have introduced them to friends who immediately think of MRE's wherever they go- The easiest and most convenient way to eat a meal The military is a common occupation. My first taste of MRE's was over a decade ago, and I didn't care for Still, I thought the premise was great You can start eating immediately after opening the MRE. The cooking does not have to be done. The majority of the time, they did not taste very My life may have changed since I last tried them, but I have never again. Various methods can be used to preserve food without requiring refrigeration, including Each one alters the way the food tastes. Salty, too dry, too yucky, etc. And then there are some that heated the food by a chemical reaction that you triggered with a package, but those are heavy and hard to discard while out in the wild. While freeze drying, on the other hand, is a long process in which the food is removed from its water. This process ensures its natural composition, and the flavor, vitamins, and nutrients remain intact. Even though the dish is lighter to carry around, the taste remains the same. Freeze-dried foods became popular thanks to NASA Please take note It has been argued that freeze-drying was developed as early as the 1800s, but it more likely dates to the 13th century when the Inca used it. Food is frozen by a process known as freezing and drying Are you dry? In a chamber with low atmospheric pressure (lower than the sea pressure we experience), the cooked meal is frozen first, then placed in a chamber with less than 1 ATM. Between now and the end of 2018 Food is heated at a very low temperature for 20 hours, and because the pressure is less than normal, ice jumps straight to gas instead of becoming a liquid. A lot of energy must be expended to do it Preserving a material for a long time takes more time than other means. As a result, we are left with food that has no water left, so it is much lighter to carry and more difficult to spoil due to micro-organisms. In that case, freeze dried food can be stored for up to 30 years if properly stored in an airtight container A place that is tightly sealed, dry, and dark (and where a desiccant is needed to catch any moisture that may creep All you have to do is add water to eat (or drink). We are now going to take a look at the A few PROS The preparation of this dish is easy You can take the pouch right out of the pouch after adding hot water and waiting up to 10 minutes. - An extended shelf life of over 30 years* The convenience of carrying light items - Once a meal has been consumed, all that remains is the pouch, which you can easily transport back to civilization for proper disposal or recycling*. * Good item to have if you are ever in a situation where survival is needed - There are tons of calories in this cookie, enough for two people* This is not an issue when backpacking in the wilderness or for those who are trying to survive. Working out hard can actually help you lose weight by getting your body to absorb salt*- Boiling water requires access to water and fire (to ignite)- A relatively expensive solution

SUMMARY
Freeze-type solution Since they are packed full of calories, they are perfect for those types of activities (perhaps not as a snack at work if you are watching your weight or blood sugar levels). Their length makes them difficult to move The fluid is long lasting, easy to store, easy to prepare, and easy to dispose. Environmentally speaking, they may not be the best choice since they require a lot of energy to produce and are also relatively expensive. Mountain House's recommendations
After backpacking for a long time and trying many different brands of packable food, my friends and I have compiled a list. The Mountain House brand of dried food is the favorite of all of us. It is possible to enhance the flavor of the dish by adding olive oil! Tastes delicious - I made pasta with meat sauce
- We love chicken with ribs and mashed potatoes (by far our Voici a tip Mashed potatoes can be used as a breakfast or as a side dish. After adding water to the chicken, it will become a delicious pouch of The following
I love a good chicken a la King"-- Chicken Chili Mac with Beef - This is Beef Stroganoff - A Primavera pasta dish - Tender beef with rice in a teriyaki sauce A Teriyaki Chicken dish with rice - Stew made with chicken - The meal includes cubes of potatoes, which make it quite filling. The meat sauce is an integral part of the lasagna
- A blend of wheat and wild rice- The best scrambled eggs with bacon ever! - A blueberry - The Neapolitan Ice Cream is ok but not the best - The meat sauce is an integral part of the lasagna
- I like to eat rice and beans and chicken in Mexican style - Meat sauce on spaghetti (portion is too small).

Portion with the dinky sauce

They say they are getting rid of #10 cans at Mountain House, but they are chintzy about portion sizes. I guess they do this so they can rip us off with these child-size.

It is now my favorite meal for lunch/dinner, and I also feel like it was especially made for me since it is There is chicken in the curry, as well as a lot of vegetables to go with it. This curry needs to be on your menu if you enjoy curry.

The food was spicy and above and beyond what I expected
5/5

There's no better way to enjoy Mountain House food than with chicken curry. actually the only one I've tried so far that really does have a spicy flavor. A coconut cream curry that tastes good, but not as sweet as a Thai curry or Vietnamese curry, but more savory like an Indian yellow curry with a thick spicy sauce. I found the dish to be very flavorful and not bland at all, like those I have had at other A dehydrated meal obviously cannot replace fresh basmati rice, but it is the best that can be done. My own chili powder makes my curry more spicy, but I can also bring mine. The curry would not be eaten by many people if it came the same way I eat I highly recommend that you try this meal if you like curry. If you are reading this, then you must be interested in what I have to say. A great experience! I wasn't expecting it to be this good!.

Whenever I'm in need of a place to stay, I go to Mountain House Travel food is important to have with you
4/5

In the course of my business, I was heavily involved in traveling, so I got tired of eating out at restaurants all the time. Packing backpacking meals into my suitcase became a habit for me. The price of their products has increased, however. There has been a reduction in the size of portions. These people have been rehabilitated We name a similar meal with a different title. In addition, they seem to be experiencing problems with their supply chain.

a relatively new brand, so this was our first time getting to try it
5/5

Mountain House is our favorite deli by a long shot. There is no TVP or filler in the product. We don't use cheap spices such as citric acid or salt as cheap taste additives. Preservatives and anything else that would cause a reaction are not used. This was quite a good game for us. My hubby is more of a curry fan than I am, but he enjoyed this dish. In terms of heat, it's not too hot, but it comes with a lot Along with being a prepper in general, we live in the mountains as well. Winters with no power are not unusual in the United States and are part of our preparation for them.

There is no beating a 25+ year shelf life, and the range of meals and side dishes is very nice. I don't love all of MH's pouches, but I do like them. While we tend to buy a lot of #10 cans, pouches are the preferred delivery method for BOBs and other occasions. There are some challenges with the corners of the bags, since they have to have water in every corner, but they are also what allow the bags to stand. Keep in mind the Smile. Amazon option when you check out. The address of the company is The Amazon Smile program lets you donate a small percentage of what you buy to a charity of your choice when you shop with Amazon.
