The winner wins, and chicken dinner is served
5/5

It's no secret that you are reading this article because 2020 stinks and you are warming up to the idea of preparing. I know you don't live in a bunker, but you want to have food on hand in case emergency strikes. Don't worry, nobody is looking at you funny. In terms of freeze-dried foods, Mountain House chicken and rice are pretty much at the pinnacle. There's no way to go wrong between this and their Chili Mac. I liked the flavor of this product, and the portions were about right for normal (really normal) serving sizes. Before buying a number 10 can, get a single serving and try it. If you are not familiar with freeze dried food, get a single serving and try You can buy the big can if you already know you like the flavor. You'll pay less than if you bought the packages individually. It generally offers, on average, 8 servings per can because the cans stack well. In a can, 4 meals can be prepared for 2 people. Please keep in mind that these are freeze dried foods. You may find it difficult to adjust to this if you are used to large meals. Moreover, it is critical to know how much sodium is contained in this. The product is okay if you need it for an emergency or for camping for a couple of days, but it doesn't qualify as health food. It's high in sodium, not just salt but also preservative sodium. This emergency food supply is gluten free and has 730mg in 1 cup (1 serving) of chicken and rice. Just make sure to read the label and know what you need to prepare when your food becomes scarce. As a whole, Mountain House is a good emergency food provider. The flavor is definitely superior to MREs and with a shelf life of 25 years, it is a good idea to reserve a few cans for unforeseen events such as floods, snowstorms, global pandemics, and so forth.

A selection of other meals are preferred by our family at Mountain House, for example. ***Beef Stew (OK) ***Chicken I had the following
Lasagna with Meat Sauce (Excellent!)
Classic Spaghetti with Meat Sauce (Excellent!)
Beef Stroganoff with Noodles (Excellent!) *)

Sorry, those aren't available.

Enough to satisfy your appetite and available at all times Weighs little

As a result of living for several years on an island in the Caribbean and experiencing numerous power outages, hurricanes, and lengthy blackouts, I learned how valuable it is to prepare Although I have accumulated quite a collection of items for our home, it would not be easy for us to leave if we had to evacuate immediately. The weight of canned goods is too great for our carts The bags and MREs are heavy and expensive (and don't last as long. In many cases, it lasts a long time). The freeze-dried products offered by these companies Dried foods are convenient because they are lightweight and all you need to prepare them is hot water (hot water is better, but if you're willing to wait any temperature will There are several brands of freeze-dried food available to me, but as far as my husband is concerned, this brand is the best. Those are the only dry options that taste good. Although they taste good and last until 2049, they would be perfect to take camping and eat sooner because they're lightweight and they last pretty long. There's a lot of rice in this one, but those are good calories when you're exercising a lot. Approximately 500 calories are contained in each serving and they are quite In the afternoon, my husband and I shared this for lunch and we enjoyed it until dinner. We served it with cottage cheese and fruit and ate until we were stuffed. There's a bit of salt in it, but not too much (not much more than canned soup, IMO, at least not in extreme situations or when you are putting more effort into the soup). This item is a very good choice for disaster preparedness as well as for These noodles aren't gourmet, but they're tasty enough and keep you full for a while. Even little things like that can make a huge difference as soon as you are stressed and down and you have a bad situation. This is a highly recommended meal (along with the Pad Thai, but that's another review).

Chicken has been eliminated in the new recipe. It has also been adjusted for this dish. I commented on the spaghetti in the same way as I did with the review. A few additions were made to the food including added peppers and some other small Neither the heat nor the flavor of it have changed. This could just as well be called peppers with rice. Much of the chicken has also been removed. Chicken volume in the old recipe isn't the same as in the old brown packages. There is a lot more chicken in the old brown packages! Due to the change in the packages, there is less product in white/blue, with more peppers in blue! The wrong step has been taken. As long as I don't find anything better, I will continue to buy. The fact that I didn't want to look anywhere else in the past is a shame though. It has finally dawned upon me.

Quite different from what we were expecting! Our family has been using this brand for camping for a very long time, and the Chicken and Rice is always my favorite

This particular batch tastes very different from the others. This experience was so disappointing for $50! I don't know if it's a fluke, quality control issues, or if they changed their recipe, but it sure was a disappointment!.

The new version is better than the old one

Since I started backpacking many years ago, I've used freeze dried meals from Mountain House and Backpacker's Pantry. It has always been my habit to use one bag for my "big" meal. In the past, I would always say to people that these meal bags are only to be eaten if you have a serious hunger problem. Unless they had been improved or reconstructed, they simply didn't taste as good. Mountain House has certainly improved their products. To me, chicken and rice used to be rather "meh" back in the day. As far as regular food standards are concerned, this latest box was quite good. I served it to my picky 7 year old son and he devoured it. because I had no idea what I was going to bring with me for food on the trail for him as I am about to take him hiking. My usual stuff is going to be brought this time! What a relief!.

Since I was a child, this was my favorite food
5/5

As someone who has a sensitive stomach, this is a quick meal that I keep on hand. I add more water sometimes and eat the soup as a side dish. To make dinner a real treat, you can add steamed veggies. Stores easily, is easy to prepare, and is an excellent camping food. Food that can be used for any purpose!.

The people lost their minds and picked up TP and emergency food like crazy. I keep this product on hand for camping, and I was hoping that it would be back in stock soon.
