Questions & Answers

8 inches is the size of this pan?

A diameter of 7 1/2 inches and a circumference of 23 inches. The pan is two inches deep and seven inches wide. This pan isn't huge, but it's big enough to use while For breakfast and for fish grilling, I have used it for bacon and eggs, pancakes, and pancakes. The pan is excellent.

What can I do with this frying pan over a campfire?

Yes, I would recommend it for use over a campfire, but not for use over a campfire.

It appears that they do not sell the original designed for the windburner anymore, so will this work with it?

While I do not own a Windburner stove, I do use my skillet on the Jetboil burner from time to time. Having witnessed the Windburner in action, I can say it's perfect for all kinds of pots and pans. Keep it attached to a wall so the voltage does not drop. Don't leave it unattended.

is the best pot to pair with this?

It's something I'm not familiar with, so I apologize. As far as I'm aware, a pot doesn't nest in its own container if that's what you mean. Teflon is used to cover the interior of the skillet. The pot would probably scratch it if it was made of metal.

Despite being very light and packable, they are It seemed like the best way to move forward was to expand my cookware since I had gotten bored with the usual prepackaged meals
4/5

I decided on the MSR Quick Skillet after looking at the different pans on the market. The first time I used it was on a backpacking trip in the Adirondacks where I cooked eggs and hash browns for two people. The food was awesome! Despite its small size and light weight, this pan is incredibly portable. This radiator is made from thin gauge aluminum, and it transmits heat quickly. Therefore, always cook at low/med heat so that you don't burn food. Ensure there is a small amount of cooking oil added to maximize non-stick properties These properties stick to each other. It is easy to fold or detach the pan handle as needed because it is very strong As an alternative to pan clamps or wrap around folding handles, I find this to be more stable and predictable. Surfaces used to cook, like many others, do not contain any oil There are some surfaces that are sticky, that seem fragile, and that can Although I used a plastic spatula, I still saw a few hairs in my work By day 3, there will be scratches on the line. I nested other things in the skillet There were some very small scratches on the collapsible silicon bowls when sand/dirt got between the surfaces and rubbed against them during transportation. These scratches were extremely small and seem to be of little concern but this illustrates the need to take extra care when using equipment. By placing a layer of coffee filters between the nesting kitchenware and the pan, I was able to achieve this result. should have done that from the beginning. Perhaps in the future, I will cut out a round piece of quick drying pack towel for that purpose. However, the durability of this skillet remains an open question on the other hand, I am very happy with its size, weight, and overall performance. I certainly am a gram-shaving sort of person, but this will definitely give me a wide range of choices for the backcountry.

Nonprofit Organization That Performs Very Well Fry pan for camping that is light and portable
4/5

All in all, this is the best combination of weight, size, and performance I have found so far. It was important for me to have a non-alcoholic beverage For family car camping, we will have a non-stick fry pan that will be exclusively used in the kitchen box. It was important for me to save weight and space in the kitchen box by not using the full size and weight pan from home. Folding handles on the Flex work perfectly and the lighter weight means we don't have to lug around the already stuffed kitchen box much more. In the past, I have bought both a cheap Coleman and a cheap Walmart There was nothing special about the camping fry pans purchased at Wal-Mart. The two of them had a miserable year It had a "stick" coating that did not stop scorching and it was too thin to prevent burning. Spending 29 dollars will provide you with the following benefits Having found the MSR Flex to have a very good non-skid surface, it was my favorite I used a pan that had a thin, non-stick coating, and the thickness of the pan was just right. Our frying methods achieved very good results with potatoes, onions, hash, chorizo and eggs. I gave it three stars because I do not like a couple of plastic pieces incorporated into the handle locking mechanism.

I did not give it a five star rating because of the plastic piece incorporated into the handle locking When one is cooking on a white gas stove, such as we are, it is no problem. Taking into account that flames would lick up the sides of the pan when it's on an open fire, I question how well the plastic would stand up. In my opinion, MSR would be on to a winner if it replaced the two plastic pieces with metal when designing

The MSR is a very good performer, especially considering how light it is and that the handle is foldable/removable. The non-financial aspect of the project could be effective with a little care It's a good idea to coat the sticks with a non-stick coating.

The best non-slip shoes for the money Pans that stick to each other
5/5

Weighs less than 100 grams and is lightweight Unlike a stick. A small skillet will work just fine. It is more convenient for me to have removable handles rather than handles that fold around the sides of the bag. Recentely I warmed up some fondue in this pan in the RV while I was on the road. It was easy to clean up. In order to clean our fondue pot after use, we have to soak it in warm water. I purchased another one of these for my camping kit on 9/18/2018. There was another mess set I tried, but it was no match for I had a problem getting my eggs out of the pan after spraying them with In addition, I would like to mention that the MSR in the RV is still working perfectly. My husband swears he didn't scratch it, but there is a small scratch on If the scratch came from one of those plastic utensils I will hope that it did not come from one of those. As soon as I get this new pan, I'll use it with more care. There are these pots and this vase For the sake of preserving the integrity of the nonstick surface, silicone utensils are a good choice for pans The coating makes it stick to surfaces. simply slides right off their surfaces if they are kept in good condition.

Time will tell how the handle works with this great piece of cooking equipment
4/5

The intention is to be able to cook in more versatile ways while still reducing my pack weight. This is a pretty good result for me The pros are Please note
Lighter than titanium, but not as strong as that. Cooking in a skillet made of titanium may not be a good idea since titanium transfers heat extremely If you land in a hotspot, you'll get serious burns. It helps to spread the heat a bit more evenly. Please note
It has a detachable handle. Please note
The water is deep enough to boil for one person enough water to make instant potatoes, for example. If you want to reduce your weight, you don't need to carry a pot. Please note
A non-profit organization Works great if you have a stick. Cut the head off a spatula or a silicone scraper so as to use it. The following cons Please note
It pretty much goes without saying that anything this thin and light WILL have hot spots, especially on an alcohol stove where the source of heat is central. When I make grilled cheese, I use an alcohol burner to cook it. You can keep rotating it and moving it around as long as you keep moving it around. A moving heat source would be best. Please note
I found some plastic parts in the handle assembly to be a bit flimsy. Whenever I am working around an open flame, I would exercise extreme caution. Please note
You are required to regulate heat more carefully when you cook with nonstick pans. The inner surface of an uncoated pan can withstand far more heat than a coated pan. As far as the handle goes, I'm really happy with it, but I wish it were a metal mechanism or felt a little sturdier. The price is right, it's lightweight, and it makes cleanup a breeze. A good pan would be recommended if you need one.
