Questions & Answers

What is the maximum capacity of these Bowles?

The smaller one is 9oz / 275ml, and the larger one is 26oz / 770ml if you're metrically inclined (is that a word?) or visualize volumes in terms of 12oz coke cans. On March 5, 2016, I purchased these. After all of the negative feedback, I believe they may have quietly increased the sizes. By the way, they also make shot glass-sized ones!

Is this flexible enough that I could use it to add flour to a stand mixer without making a big mess?

I haven't tried it that way, but it seems like it would be too small for putting ingredients in while mixing. It could also be a disaster if you hit the sides with the beaters.

Okay, I'm going to ask you a question. How are you keeping the liquid from spilling out when you grab the cup or bowl if it's truly "squishy"?

To pick it up, I hold it by the edge, near the bottom, or both, and there are no spills due to the squishy-ness of it. ness. The cup/bowl does not deform if handled gently. br>I use the cup as a dog's travel water dish, so I haven't tried drinking from it yet.

I'm curious about the smaller bowl's dimensions. Only one size appears to be available. Are the bottoms of these shoes flat? That is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks?

2 1/2 tall, 2 7/8 at the top, 3 1/2 in the middle, size of a small bowl/cup br>Mine has a concave bottom with a flat space on the bottom that is about 1/4 inch wide; it sits perfectly on a flat surface. br>When water is added, two packets of oatmeal will fill it up to about 3/4 of the way.

Hiking and camping are made easier with this cleverly designed cup and bowl
5/5

When it comes to the cup size, some reviewers say "why bother," which I understand if we're talking about ice tea on a hot day. This cup is for sipping a hot cup of tea or coffee, just like a trekker's water bottle is for quenching thirst, not guzzling. and, if necessary, obtaining a refill br> The mug of the majority of trekkers Pots are single walled to allow for boiling and cooking, so keeping liquids hot to enjoy their 450mL to 700mL capacity isn't their strong suit. This little cup, on the other hand, keeps a full cup (8oz/240mL) of coffee or tea hot the entire time you're drinking it. (To- the- The brim is ridiculous, but it's getting close to 10 ounces. ) Of course, because it's a squishy cup, avoid squeezing it; It's not floppy or weak, but it's rigid enough to get the job done. spilled behind a wall nuisance. br> In terms of rigidity and coolness, the bowl is similar. enough- the- When you're holding something hot in your hand, it's a good idea to keep your Again, don't fill to the brim, and if you're making soup instead of porridge, make sure to hold it in your hand at the bottom for the best wall stability. Their dimensions are appropriate for their intended use, and their walls are sufficiently high to prevent sloping. over, their inner surfaces are slick and easy to clean, their outer surfaces are grippy for a secure grip, and they're made of high-temperature silicone to withstand hot temperatures and spring back to shape after being squashed into a strange space. On the other hand, avoid poking, piercing, tearing, ripping, or otherwise coming into contact with a sharp object, as well as getting too close to an open flame. After all, silicone is all they're made of. Some trekkers will stick to their Titanium or Stainless mugs because they are light weight and squish down to fit anywhere, but they can't be scrubbed out with sand, washed with ashes, or sterilized over the fire. Many other hikers and campers will appreciate having these along to keep their coffee, soup, and stew hot enough to enjoy until the end and their hands warm, not burned while being served.

However, it is quite good
4/5

I like these a lot, but I have some reservations about them. They each have their own set of positive and negative characteristics. br>Let's start with the positive aspects. They're soft and squishy, and they're much easier to store than a metal cup. You can stuff them into a pocket on the 'ruck or down into the cookset by rolling them into a ball. Sweet. br>Also, because this stuff is silicone, I can fix hot coffee, tea, soup, chocolate, you name it, I can fix it in my cook set, pour it into the squishy bowl, and handle it instantly because the silicone does not transfer heat to my hand in any significant way. Finally, they provide me with additional bowl/mug capability on the trail for almost no weight/space cost, as I was previously using my cookset as a bowl/mug. I had to wait until I finished my cup of coffee if I boiled water for it. joe, to rehydrate a "PackitGourmet" meal by boiling water once more. Now I can make coffee, put it in a squishy cup, boil some water to wash it down with, and then rehydrate my meal while I relax with my "lifers' juice. "br>Now for the bad. br>I'll have to pick them up carefully! They're SQUISHY, so be careful! If I don't watch it when it's full of boiling water, it'll collapse and spill the liquid all over my hand, which isn't pleasant. They're a pain to keep clean. br> The silicone holds everything together. Just putting it out there. Finally, while they do squish up, I've seen some other designs that simply collapse flat. Those, I believe, are superior. The rigid ring around the top of the cup/bowl will prevent the cup/bowl from collapsing as I described, and they can still be carried just as easily. The only disadvantage is the cost, which is lower with these.

There is a foul odor! They're heavier than I anticipated, and on top of that, the product has a foul chemical odor that persists even after multiple washes
3/5

It's quite sticky and keeps everything attached to it: ) As a result, you must wash them each time you want to use them. Otherwise (if "otherwising" is still a viable option): D), it has a nice appearance, does not burn your hands when filled with hot liquids, and squeezes well. I wouldn't try to squeeze them too hard because I'm afraid it'll tear them apart. br>UPDATE. I'm unable to eat these because the odor will not go away. It's a real turn off.

This is exactly what I need for my backpacking trip
5/5

I've been backpacking with my Squishy Bowl for at least 5 years and can't say enough good things about it.
Pros:
- Place it wherever you want in your bag; It's perfect for those tight spaces.
- After your meal, turn it inside out and lick it clean before washing it, yum.
- Mine shows no signs of wear or staining, which is a testament to how long-lasting it is.
Cons:
- With the word "squishy" in the name, it's no surprise that you'll need to be cautious when handling your dinner bowl. The benefits, in my opinion, outweigh this disadvantage. br>br>In conclusion, all I need for dishes while backpacking is this bowl and an old spoon from my kitchen. Breakfast, coffee, and dinner are all good options. It cleans up nicely with no stains or odors that can be detected by humans. My two sons each have one and consider them to be very cool. I purchased a bowl and cup set, but I haven't used the cup in years. That's just my personal taste.

It's convenient and simple to pack
5/5

This set has been in my possession for approximately 7 years and still looks brand new. For food, I frequently use the "cup" - On the road, at work, and while camping. It has a capacity of 8 oz when filled to the brim. I usually fill it to the brim because I eat rice, noodles, thick strew, and so on. You don't want your liquids to be filled to the brim if you're eating or drinking them. I've made hot chocolate with it and drank water from it. It's possible to carry it from the bottom, but I'm always wary of carrying it too far. It has a squishy feel to it. These are lightweight and compact. I've smashed the cup into a backpack several times and it always comes out perfectly intact. br>br>I've only used the bowl twice because it's so big. I'm carrying 16 ounces, which is a lot more than I usually eat in one sitting. I wish the cups could be purchased separately. I'd buy more, but I don't need any more bowls in my house.
