Questions & Answers

Do you think it'll fit in a Coleman 40 quart?

Only the Igloo spec sheet is available!

It looks like the latch broke on an Igloo cooler of 120 quarts. It is white and bends so that it can be locked and unlocked. Is there a latch of the same type ?

The latch replacement part can be found here. While it's a replacement part, I'm not as pleased with its quality or the fact that it doesn't snap shut as tightly as the original part. It does not matter what size Igloo cooler you have, all its parts are the same.

I would like to know how many holes there are between the holes. Could anyone help me with this? Thanks a lot! ?

There are two mounting holes on each side.

Do these work on ice chests with Thermos 96 brand?

Igloo products are the only ones eligible for these rebates. Upon checking the Igloo website, I discovered the latches ( and other accessories ) are the same throughout the company's lineup. There is no connection between Thermos and This is the way I learned that the difference is due to a phone call to Thermos. I messed up.

I don't like this as much as the original
3/5

The latch on my 120 qt. was broken so I bought this to replace it. (About 8 years old) Igloo cooler. This item was given 3 stars since the latch is not as sturdy as the original and does not latch There was a solid "click" to the old latch, and it securely It is made from plastic that is much softer than the original. The spring flexes, and it does not "click. ". The original and replacement both use flexible plastic hinges, but the replacement version appears to split if it is flattened to the maximum extent, whereas the original allowed full movement, and didn't actually retract if the maximum amount of pulling was applied. It actually cost me more to buy two replacements than I actually used. Until I need that other one, I will keep Despite how well it works, I'm glad to still have one original latch to hold the lid tightly shut. This is a picture of the old latch, the new latch, and how it was installed.

The old "fold over" latches are replaced by this one
5/5

Older Igloo coolers have the "fold over" latches (Igloo model 9350) and they are starting to break after folding over for years. As a result, I purchased these latches since it is hard to find the old ones. In the new style latches, the opening is not as wide (they don't have the same flexibility). The old style latches got in the way and caught on things when they were open, so this is a good thing. New latches have a longer lifespan because they do not flex as much as old ones do when performing their functions. However, there is a difference between this latch and the older ones in that it only has one screw per post, not two like the old one. To use this one screw post, you'll need to remove your old two screw post and drill a pilot hole for the new one. Since I just wanted to keep my old posts, I ended up just using the old ones. In spite of the discontinuation of the Igloo 9350 plastic latch kit with the two screw posts, you can still purchase Igloo's stainless steel latch kit with two screw posts It consists of a screwed wing.

The installation process is simple
3/5

In just a week, the wheel broke. I'm sorry to say that the durability is similar to other reviews. The installment failed on Thursday, July 4 it was broken off on Thursday, July 11. That's just junk. This latch has been in use for many years over a large number of large fishing trips and boat hauls. The latch of one of the doors already tore after one 4th of July weekend (mild). This is garbage. The fact that this is a non-issue is evident by the fact that it has been Good to know that the product is refundable or returnable. I will probably buy a new Coleman or Yeti, or whatever I can get at Costco for the next trip to Costco, unless Igloo emails me that they will replace it for free One of the options they have is Igloo. That's a bummer. I kept ice in this cooler for almost seven days and it still worked. When the latches stop working, it's time to replace them.

Replacements that are good Nonetheless, I recommend you to do so
4/5

It was a great deal for these replacement latch posts. However, I would recommend that the screws were one size larger so that they would hold the latches firmly in place. Due to the elastic nature of plastic, the holes in the screw holes stretch and give, so when the old latches are removed and replaced with the new latches and screws, the new latches are not held tightly enough to prevent them from falling off. As a user, you are going to really like how tight the snaps are, but if other people, who are not used to tight snaps, pull on the latches, they will pull the cooler off. Another habit of some is to pull the latch snaps upward to open the cooler, which will cause the screws to come loose. In place of the original screws, I replaced them with screws that were larger than the replacement screws, and these screws remained securely in place and could not be removed because they are incredibly strong.

I was disappointed in these because they weren't compatible with two screw posts
3/5

To replace it without drilling another hole, I needed something that wouldn't require me to The posts of my enormous igloo cooler are held in place with two screws. There was a problem with the latch because the post was incompatible. The hybrid latch was the second attempt after trying the first. This is the same issue As for the plastic, it feels cheap and is not going to last as long as the original. As a result of reading a review that stated it came with a two screw post and that they worked flawlessly while fitting, I ordered the stainless steel ones for a third and final try. It took me no longer than a minute to remove the old post. There's no way I can return these plastic ones, or else I would. If I'm truly desperate and would be willing to drill another hole for one single post, I guess they'll sit in a drawer for a while.

Igloo, thanks a lot
5/5

You are so beautiful that I want to One of our coolers was flipped over so it could dry out after I used the hose to clean it. I did that and snapped off the flap that closes the cooler. I thought 'great, now I need to buy a new cooler', because we have become a society that consistently makes junk and expects minor problems to lead to repeated purchases. My check of the Igloo website revealed the company makes UNIVERSAL cooler latches! We ordered them on Amazon and had them in 2 days, swapped them out, and the cooler worked as it should. For THAT, we have much less waste, much smaller prices, and a company that knew where a weak spot was and designed the product so it could be easily replaced at a fraction of the cost. A kiss would be nice for Igloo.

The price will not remain the same for This type of shoe will fit anyone, but they will wear out quickly
3/5

Originals are better than these replacements, but they have a lower quality. There is a noticeable difference in the thickness of the plastic, especially at the bend or hinge where it attaches to There is no doubt that it will break sooner than the original. Additionally, they do not fit quite right they are a little bigger/longer than they are supposed to It is much better to use the stainless hinge because it is so much stronger and will last It is also possible to buy these two by themselves for more than the kit available It would have been nice if I had seen that before I bought these. Although both hinges and the plug are included in the kit, you get back hinges and the plug for the same price. The stainless latch is stronger, but if you want one even stronger, you should choose that.

The material is the same as that which is likely to break in a few years for my Igloo
3/5

I had ordered these to fit my big Igloo and they did not fit, but they are of the same white plastic as the original snaps that broke and had to be replaced after a few years using them. Then I am sure that these will break a few years from now. Isn't there an easier snap to come up with? This is a very easy product to install – This replacement snap has the original outer snap, the buttons they snap onto, and screws, all of which match the originals Rephrased (I just rewrote This was accomplished by using existing screw and button assembly).
