It may not be obvious, but I would see if there is an area where it would be sensible to drill and mount if the cooler walls become Alternately, you can call Igloo to determine the maximum thickness of wall it will pass through while still holding.

You may have to work a bit to get it to fit. At least 1" of thickness should be on the walls of the cooler.
I suppose it would fit if the plugs were the same size.

A smaller drain plug would have been better, but when you bore into a cooler without a previous plug you end up with thick insulation, and therefore a longer drain plug is necessary. In order to order the smaller plug first, I went to You won't even get a playmate cooler to work, trust me. it did need a little modification. There is no hole saw with the diameter of this plug's diameter that is the exact match for the plus's length. The scale was set to 1 (bought in ACE) I used a 1/8" hole saw to bore the hole, which was a little too big (a smaller size would have been appropriate). Using a piece of PVC that was slightly wider in diameter than the drain plug's section that slides through the hole, I used the PVC as seal outside the cooler as the space between the plug and cooler is, in fact, the drain plug. There are two problems with this plug it is too long and it is slightly loose. However, using the PVC took care of both issues. During the installation of the gasket I used silicone caulking to seal well around the plug. A nice seal was formed, and the watertight seal was maintained.
Buyers should be careful! The drain plug on my Igloo chest cooler broke, so I bought this Igloo Replacement Drain Plug to replace it. The item was described as a replacement component for chest coolers and as being universally fit. There's no universal fit for this! There is no comparison at all! As this plug is larger in diameter than mine, longer, and wider than my cooler, and the seller does not offer a return or a replacement that will fit, I am not able to return it or use it. It would make sense that the seller discloses the size of the replacement plug and not claims it is universal. The only one thing that really annoys me is that they do not offer I could not believe how much I wasted. This item should be avoided by buyers! Otherwise, you can waste your money as I have! Please provide a better product description to avoid wasting your money like I did!.
However, it leaked when I used it with my Igloo 120 Quart cooler. For the seal to stop constantly leaking, I had to dry it out and cover it with a waterproof sealer. A second leak point is the lack of a gasket in the cap. I think this is a weed page at the very least. It is NOT the original from the factory. It would have been much better to jam a stick into the hole instead of purchasing You're better off finding a rubber plug rather than spending money.
To repair my Rubbermaid cooler, I used to go to a repair shop. In order to make the drain plug fit, I enlarged the hole with a Dremel. Drain plugs from Igloo are of a better quality than those from the original manufacturer.

I received an excellent drain plug from this seller, but it did not fit my Igloo cooler, and the seller did not provide enough information so that you would know that before you ordered. Using my cooler, the hole is 7/8 inch in diameter, and there is about a 1 inch diameter on the threads of this piece. It is impossible to return the sealed package, even if it is still in great condition. There is a correct drain plug, a triple snap drain plug, in the Igloo. The only thing I regret is not buying.
During a trip we took along the east coast, I bought a cheap Igloo cooler from Walmart that worked fine. However, when I used ice to keep things cold, the ice would melt after a while and this was a hassle to empty. A drain was not included in the package. My first time ever working on a laptop, I found this on Amazon and watched a YouTube video on how to install it. A cool drain is easy to find on a cheap little cooler. I am using the cooler right now on a boat trip to the Texas Gulf of Mexico.
In the picture you can clearly see that it is the old drain plug assembly from my cooler that broke. My understanding of the part description was unclear (at least to me) as to the dimensions. Although there were numbers listed, it was not clear to what feature each dimension was related? I wait for a week (for what I thought would be a week A prime day is any day with a prime rating of Nope, it's not the case. Labeled as a prime but really not eligible for a prime 2 ) only to discover that it is way too large! There is a great deal of fear associated with buying I found this purchase to be VERY disappointing at every turn. No stars is what I would rate this as, but then I can't even do that! A minimum of one start is required for it to be posted.
