Questions & Answers

It is not one screw through the hatch, but two to attach my cooler latch post. Is there anything you can suggest?

The items arrived just now, so I installed them. In order to line up the new latch with the original 2-inch holes, it was screwed into the original holes The new post is unnecessary if you don't want to. No need to use the old post. - Opinions on other aspects of the topic Since the latch seems fragile and weak, I bet I won't put much faith in it, although we're thinking of not using it anyway. These hinges greatly improved the performance of two coolers (one small and one The hinges fit well and seem much better than the latch, still waiting to find out how long they will last. Next time I may go with the stainless metal hinges or perhaps the fire hose material hinges. As well as the latch, they offer a matching lock.

these latches and latch posts fit the 45 quart Igloo ?

There are a lot of questions for me to answer. Despite its age, my cooler still works fine. It was just a matter of matching parts from photos. Sorry about that.

Do you think it will fit a cooler larger than this one? I would like to order those kits for placement in my igloo and I don't want to make a mistake due to size differences. Can you let me know before I order?

There are hinges made of one piece plastic, but the latch and latch post are different, so there will be two holes where the old latch post used to be. However, the coolers will fit with the hinges in place, but the latch will not last as long as the old one. I find it acceptable, but I would recommend better hinges if you intend to use it a lot.

The cost is minimal, and the effectiveness is excellent
3/5

However, it should NOT be I recommend this kit as a good budget replacement. It was on its way to the trash when I found a 100 quart cooler. I thought it was worth mentioning my thoughts after installing the new latches and drain. This is 1. Basically, this is a replacement kit that is affordable. That should not be forgotten. You need heavy duty latches and hinges, if you want to replace the Land Rover of replacement parts. Designed for a cooler that is rarely used, the replacement hinges are designed to last for decades. "Folded" plastic is simply plastic that has been molded. The "new" hinges did not need to be installed as my old ones were in fine condition. 1. 2. 3. Considering the price is only 13 bucks, it's not bad. It's worth at least four dollars for the latches and drains alone. Compared to the old latches, it seems there has been a slight improvement in the design. It came up in less than a minute flat for me. Symbols for br>5. It's awesome to have prime shipping!.

You know that
4/5

Quite the contrary. I love it! When I purchased a roller chest cooler for camping and road trips, the 'littles' destroyed it after I used it just once. I would consider that to be a tad extreme, rather that it rendered it pretty useless for anything other than a portable left it on a shelf as long as it didn't have hinges or a clasp on the front for at least 4 years The game is trying to play "Nearly Headless Nick" as best as it can. As I scrubbing the layers of dirt and cobwebs off (the retention strap seemed to be clinging)
I suddenly saw replacement parts on Amazon as I resurrected it recently for holding iced beverages. Please visit www. com. As soon as I pulled out my phone, I found this phenomenal deal that would not only fix the broken parts once, but twice for a very nominal cost. A couple days after that, the parts arrived, appearing to be original equipment Those were identical to what was previously on the cooler, and they fit quite well. I could swear the cooler had me wrapped in a big hug while I was attaching the new parts. . . . or the lid slammed down on my head when I was inspecting the inside.
The drop in stars has merely to do with the likelihood that the parts will fail again so it loses points on durability.

Replacing a better item with a worse item
3/5

I have managed to build a large Igloo box (at least attempt to build it). In my opinion, the latches on the lid are even inferior to the junk that came with the box. It was not even worthwhile for me to try and replace the 3 hinges since the replacement isn't a hinge, but just a piece of junk paste that bends (breaks) just like the original latches. In fact, the original hinges on my box were actually hinges with pins, so they were made just like a door hinge, no matter that they were still made of Therefore, if you have a really good container, you need to buy a couple real hinges and latches from the hardware store. I will be able to get rid of this junk almost immediately. That was a dumb move on Igloo's part, and Amazon made a horrible mistake recommending that.

Make sure you drill the hole in the right place
3/5

This was bought as part of a 50 Qt Igloo cooler purchase. using it for one use, I decided it was time to drain it. I was not sure which drain version would work until I read other reviews, so I purchased this set that came My suspicions were confirmed when I realized the short one wasn't In the end, I drilled the hole in the obvious location, where it looked as though it was meant to go, in the cooler. This was a trick that I fell for. There is not enough drain length in the cooler because Igloo made it even thicker and the drain is too short. Because I am a mechanical engineer, I was able to figure it out This was the result of engineering. My wall needs only an inch of wood and an eighth inch of cooler material. At the moment, it is pushed back into the side of the cooler, but it still I modified the wall of the cooler so that it would have worked on another cooler where the walls are thinner. It's a bit of a diversion, but then again what fun is.

A cooler can be easily repaired
5/5

This was bought to repair a marine cooler that had been discarded because it was missing the drain plug and the hinges and latches had been broken. replaced three hinges as well as the latches and the drain plug, and I have a spare latch and drain plug should I need them for another cooler. I personally think the original style hinges are better, but apparently Igloo comes to believe these flexible plastic ones are better since that's all you can get today. In any case, they are inexpensive and easy to install, so there is no need to worry.

There is a rapid failure of parts
4/5

The hinges and latches on these bins are built to fail. Igloo provides a stainless kit, but it includes two back hinges and ONE latch on the front. Does anyone know why they sell a harder set and just one front latch cleverly? You're probably going to put a couple more dollars in their bank account. Getting your head around it is easy. Selling more kits is a good idea. The existing hinges and latches on this chest should be removed and this chest should be used You should make sure that the top sits well on the chest. Would Igloo like to make money if they would fail?.

The cooler you have now can be repaired without having to purchase a new one
5/5

It felt bad to throw out a cooler when we live in such a disposable society. A fish shop near the beach had replacement parts for my cooler, so I bought them. Due to my cheap nature, I sprang for Amazon to provide them. The coolers arrived quickly, and I now have a brand new one. I close the door again and it stays shut this time own a cooler, consider getting replacement hinges, handles, and latches before investing in.

You can still make the pieces fit even if they aren't exactly right
3/5

As others had done, I tried to fix my cooler with these parts on the way to the dump. Although the hinges are smaller and the drain port is available in two sizes, it does not fit well. To make them work, the holes had to be drilled, but the top now opens to a right angle alone and not at an angle like the older As luck would have it, there are two sets of hinges, so I'm going to need them since I predict they will fail after some use. There was no perfect replacement for the larger drain plug, but it could be made to fit. It matters not what type of cooler I have, I have a PolyLite48.
