Questions & Answers
Neither the bladder nor the main storage section of the backpack is attached to each other. There may still be room issues depending on how many books and supplies you need to store. As well, the material of the backpack may be too thin to be used every day at school.
It can fit a notebook size product and hold a poncho as well as an ice pack and a poncho if needed. This backpack has a pretty large capacity and it attaches to a water bladder. It is difficult to take photos of the interior.
She is able to fit her rain jacket without any issues.
If the water spout is high enough, it may be possible to fill it at a drinking fountain. It is possible to fill this out without assistance by a child of 10 years old. N.B. Although this hydration pack is on the smaller side for a 10 year old, it may still work fine. The CamelBak M is the one I'd recommend getting. A 100oz bottle is better for the 10 year old since it is a good size and she has enough growth room in it.

This backpack was too wide and sewn too close together for the age of our five As her straps rubbed against her neck, it made her feel uncomfortable. As well, the free end of the straps did not come with any built-in I usually find CamelBak has integrated elastic or Velcro for rolling up the free end, but this one had just a rubber band, and I'm sure it would get lost the first time I used it. Eventually, we returned this in favor of CamelBak's Mini Mule, which is amazing, but with less storage capacity. It can take up less space on the back (thinner) so it is cooler. We also like the straps on the Mule because they are much better. Plus, the Mule has a mesh pocket that can expand to accommodate a rain jacket, along with space for other items. Buying from the Amazon Warehouse should be done with caution. In one case, the seller noted that only the original packaging would be damaged, so we bought a "like new" item. An old hydration reservoir came with the kit. This was still soaked in water, and it had a mouthpiece that was Are you serious?.
I bought this for my 7-year-old daughter because it was perfect and very light. Our journey is filled with adventures, so she loves her own pack with plenty of storage for whatever she wants to carry with us. Rather than take a small snack with us, we opted for the Scout because it added additional variety if we wanted to take extra items. That was a smart move on our part. When she was ready to take off her light jacket on our first hike, we were able to put it in her backpack when it got a little chilly. The bag is made with very high quality materials and has a built-in whistle and reflective straps that we really appreciate. The importance of safety cannot be overstated.
The pack is fantastic. My eight year old grandson received this as a gift. Lightweight and built for his tiny frame, it's perfect for him. There is plenty of space for a jacket and lunch or a few books and Having a water source of their own is a huge bonus for children. They are encouraged to drink water by the novelty of the hose. Having their gear to carry in my car is a great perk! It's win-win all the way.
My daughter is 7 years old and I bought this for her. In order to make snowboarding easier for her (and on both of us haha), I do whatever I can. Our favorite part of using this backpack is that we don't have to worry about being dehydrated on the mountain. Having a backpack is also great since you can pack some snacks, a phone charger and if it gets hot, you can put them in a delayer. This will probably also be a good hiking trail in the Summer. Though I am glad to own it, I wish we had other color options that would not be.
Even when the lid was sealed tightly, the bladder leaked. This pocket holding the bladder was dripping with water from the amount of water in it. A water tank serves two functions, hold water and dispense water with a hose when needed. The first task it attempts fails miserably. There is more than just drippage of water out of the lid when it is closed. Back in town.
It was easy for her to stay hydrated both in the bag and while walking around town. It was not heavy or bulky to carry all day long. As a result of keeping the mouthpiece in her mouth too much on day 1 she chewed through the mouthpiece, but hopefully this can easily be A small amount of leakage occurs around the mouthpiece as a result of the hole she chewed.
I do wish the hydration pack was equipped with a neoprene sleeve or something that would help to keep it cool. Even though we make huge ice cubes, it would be nice to have a little extra to cool us in the hot summer days.
With no problems accessing his water as well as plenty of extra space for the things he finds along the way, this pack was perfect for my 4 year old. I had been looking for a pack that would grow with him while still giving him plenty of room for growth. A similar one was also purchased for my two-year-old, but it was a bit too small for him. As soon as we filled it with water (about half way), he seemed off-balance. Still, it is a fantastic kid's backpack to take on a hike.
