Selected User Reviews For Garmin Approach S12, Easy-to-Use GPS Golf Watch, 42k+ Preloaded Courses, White, 010-02472-02
The screen is crystal clear no matter if the background is black or white. The four buttons on the approach S10 function like those on the approach S10. The user interface is straightforward. If you're looking for a GPS watch with a clear dial, simple operations, and a quick response time, this is the watch for you!.
When I was playing, I used a laser rangefinder, but it interfered with me. . . . I stopped, I pulled it out, I looked for the flag, then I put it back. With this watch, the time is always being updated and the accuracy seems to be good. The course hole locator I have is for my main course. Normally, I hit the middle of the green when playing other courses. The other feature that I found useful was I could determine which club to join even without being able to see the flag. The cards currently show an aerial view of each fairway, so I do not need that feature. On my way to the ball, I glance at my watch and choose my club by simply selecting the one I want. While swinging, I forget the watch is on my left wrist it is so lightweight that I don't even notice it's there. I may bump it up to 5 stars as I play more games, so as a basic watch it easily ends up being better than 4 stars.
Thanks for the great product. We had our original golf watches stolen and we have replaced them with the S12s. Using these for everyday golf needs proved to be a perfect choice. In addition to being efficient, light weight and not at all bulky, they are also very comfortable to use. Recreational golfers need only to know the basics from them since the information they provide is accurate. Our golf cart, which we used this week, was equipped with a GPS for further confirmation. It is a great golf watch for the beginning golfer.
I love how easy it is to use this watch once you get used to how it works. The golf course is loaded up automatically when you turn on the system (when you reach the golf course) and tell it where to go. If you want to hit from a particular tee, note it down (it really doesn't matter since it gives you the info you need regardless) and you're good You can calculate the distance from the front, center, and back of each green, as well as from obstacles is all that is involved. There is no data fee associated with the watch. The battery lasts for about two weeks, but I have only had it for a few weeks, so can't speak to how long it lasts.
I am so amazed by how light it is. I am extremely satisfied with the accuracy compared to my Nikon rangefinder Though, the most impressive part is the battery life. Does it get any better than that? With just 4 hours left in the battery, I am at 95% battery life.
This GPS watch is very accurate on yardage, so it's a good buy. There are issues with the hazard distances as well as the layup distances. It is okay for golf courses, but it cannot be used for every day use. Night time in the house is filled with darkness, so not only can you not see the time, but nothing else is done I cannot connect any of my health apps, nor do I see my step totals. The experience is fine, but I would have bought the 10 instead of the 12 if I had it to do over.
I really like how easy it is I found the battery life to be longer than the Bushnell watch I used to own. Mostly because my knowledge of the program is very limited, I have not used all of its features.
