The system shuts down after overheating
3/5

The majority of the time I don't write product reviews, good or bad, but this item is so important to me that I feel obligated to. The reviews for this book were very few when I purchased it The product does what it claims to do and it's a really cool product. If you use the radar (club and ball measuring data) feature to practice hitting, any subsequent use of this device will lead to overheating and shutting down. Before you can use it again, you need to wait until it cools down. During the same practice session, it will continue to happen sooner and sooner once it overheats. This device has worked in temperatures as low as 42 degrees and as high as 75 degrees while I live in Phoenix. In spite of the temperature of the air, it overheats at the same extent. There must be a problem with UV light coming in from the sun. Currently we do not have the option of using it in a shaded area at our I think it does exactly what it says it does. While the overheating problem will need to be addressed before purchasing this product, I strongly caution against purchasing it. The next thing I will do is to try to get my money back. I hope this helps.

This is amazing
5/5

The purchase of this software caused me some rethinking, as I wanted the voice caddie, but it was not available, so I decided to give this software a try and I am so glad I My range finder has a range of 2 yards. In my case, I didn't know the distance on many of my clubs. I am 54 years old and have been a single digit for many years. When measured at a golf shop, I thought my average speed was around 105 and distance was 280 yards. This was not the case, as I discovered later. I managed a driving average of 245 yards, and came in at a swing speed of 97 miles per hour after a few rounds. Still, I was a little deflated, despite my good results. In addition to exercising and doing range work, I started doing flexibility exercises, and the launch monitor is amazing. The smash factor is the key to my success. I average a There is a 41-point difference on smash factor now and the swing speed consistently reaches 104 With an average speed of 107 mph, driving distance per hour is 292 miles. Several times per round, I've hit it at distances over 300 yds at different elevations, depending on what the wind was doing. Having my averages plugged in with my GPS on this golf cart allows me to confidently play and attack shots. There is one concern I have, however it does not keep a record of my progress or averages so I have to keep a note of everything I do. The best golf gadget I've ever purchased. **Hint hint** Overall the best golf gadget I've ever owned.

Based on the features it has, I bought this product thinking it was an upgrade for the G8, essentially a G8 with radar capabilities
3/5

That was a mistake I made! The GPS tracker does have a scorecard and GPS, but the performance stats are not very detailed. Unless you're looking for something to measure your club distances, this isn't the device for you. Measuring a shot will not tell you what club you have to hit. This device, however, has a range of about 600 meters, and has a radar function. In the future, if I knew that this device's primary purpose was software launch monitoring, I would have upgraded to the G8 and waited for the launch monitor to provide more information. While I'm at the range, it keeps me more focused on practicing my shots, aiming for distances, and being consistent instead of just randomly hitting balls. Using the virtual round piece, I am trying to improve distance accuracy by using different clubs. Devices like this one are great for this purpose! An important feature is the tracking of radar data. This is another feature that is missing from the game. There would be a lot more value in a system where I could tell the system that I am hitting my driver and it will store all the data for that club so I can better evaluate how should be an available feature for both the GPS and radar system, but it is not. In my experience, I haven't had any issues with overheating even on very hot days when I was out at the range. Because I don't sit it directly in the sun, maybe that will As a result, I will probably keep the device once I have a net or nets in the back yard. I will use the GPS on the course and the basic scorecard since its feature set is very limited, doesn't allow you to add penalties, only.

The statement is completely inaccurate
3/5

Golf has been a regular part of my life, so I am quite familiar with my swing. The reason I bought it was because of COVID The result is very very very disappointing. I put up a 19 shelter in California and wanted to enjoy my backyard golf practice. For all P wedge, all 9 irons, all 8 irons, all 7 irons, all 6 irons and all 5 irons, the g80 gave me around 90*100 yard distance. The joke is on you. I don't think the method works for me at least, but it may work for others.

The outside mats are great, but the ones inside aren't so great
3/5

When I bought it, I thought it would work great at the range and on the course, but it was way off indoors, which is what I desired. While I have always loved Garmin products, the customer service rep on the phone had no idea how it worked. He asked me if that was a real golf ball?.

Despite the challenges, G80 is a good choice
5/5

I have used Garmin products all of my life and will not change my mind. The G10 was my go-to club for several years and I wanted to be able to see the entire shot as well as the varying yardages on each shot. That requirement has been met by the G80 without any issues. (Over five rounds of play on a single charge) The battery life is incredible. My accuracy is the same as it was with the G10, so I don't see any changes. It has been a long time since I used my glasses, so seeing the screen without them is great (yuppie) and moving the pointer is easy. It's still taking some time to get used to all the features but I'm very pleased with my.

A key feature of the G80 is that it keeps score for up to 4 There is currently no way to use this feature
3/5

After saving, the scores are deleted. You can enter the scores during the round, but once you hit "save" at the end, you cannot get them back again. The Garmin website has been showing that this feature has been broken for two years now, and there is no indication that this will be fixed anytime soon. In my opinion, keeping scores is a crucial feature for a device such as this. The following are two things to note If Garmin doesn't have quality assurance, or if it does, it must be broken, and 2) if Garmin's engineers can't detect and fix such a simple problem within two years, then the software must be.
