Although this brace cost a great deal, I would expect much more from it. Field hockey is a sport in which I typically wrap my ankles and legs in athletic tape (a practice in which I learned from college trainers). Despite this being a great method, I was searching for one that was more sustainable. The canvas brace that a teammate had used back in college reminded me of that one. This one should follow the same pattern. A strange, plasticky "fabric" is used to make this brace, and it is rigid and rigid. As a result of having somewhat knobby ankles, I often get pain in the inside of my ankle when That would be too dangerous for me to play in. My turf shoes do not fit well with the brace either because it is much bulkier than I expected. In addition, due to the rigidity of the "fabric," my foot slid around in it because it did not hug my ankle well. It was a waste of money so all in all it wasn't worth it. There will have to be more athletic tape in my life. This type of brace *may* be useful if you are recovering from the pain of a sprained ankle or surgery, but it is certainly not useful for prevention when you are playing a sport that involves quick lateral.
As soon as our son gets his cast removed, this will be very handy. In order not to roll his ankle again, he'll need extra support for a little while. This brace is extremely well made and fits perfectly. The ankle brace is rough near the bones, but it does a great job of stabilizing the ankles. I have tried about a dozen braces for different sports and this one turned out to be the best. In fact, I bought a few more since they are.
