It is great to have the ankle protection that supplements the shin guards, but the ankle disc could be made of a more durable plastic. I once saw my 16-year-old daughter wearing one of the plastic shields during practice, and one of the shields broke when she got guess that the ankle guards may have prevented her from suffering an ankle injury on this particular occasion, but I wish I didn't have to replace them after just This shirt is extremely comfortable and fits well.

These shoes do come with hard plastic ankle protectors inside of the padding on both sides. As far as I can see, it should be suitable for ages 10 and up.
