It's true that these softballs work well for batting practice. I gave them to my granddaughter, who plays in a traveling team as well as a school team. I would estimate that during the season she uses them twice. During the off-season, she uses them three times a day. When the weather permits, she uses them several times a week. In addition to the information provided in the description, these balls are definitely for practice It doesn't have the quality feel of your competition balls, but they can be used for batting off a tee into a net without having to take balls out of the net after My only complaint is that the bucket seals nicely. There isn't much padding in the bucket, but I rarely sit on it, so it doesn't affect me much.
There were only 17 balls in the bucket, so everything seemed to be going well. I was laughing when I read another review that said that, because I had just received.

You get a lot for your money, but the quality and value are excellent. When we are in the field, the bucket is great for storing them and easier to transport.

As far as I can tell, the softballs are as advertised, though our team has not used them yet so I can't comment on their durability. It doesn't have padding on the bucket. Glue marks are visible on the lid, but no padding is present. It does not fall off in shipping because the padding was not in the packaging. As far as softballs and the bucket for storing/transporting the balls are concerned, this does not impact their use. However, it will make sitting on them much more difficult.
The softball has an excellent cover, stitching, visibility, feel, and I can tell that it's made from high-quality materials.
