Using it as a transition in going from a 10" ball to a 12" ball has been extremely helpful. It felt normal to pitch the 14" then the 12" for the kids after throwing the 14". The softball feels like any other softball to us even though we've never hit it.
If she is in 10U, I would probably suggest she practice spins with a 12" ball in order to strengthen her hand strength. As she ages and gets bigger, I would suggest a 14"

Despite all the advice I received, my daughter's pitching coach (13) recommended this to me. It took us a while to figure out what the benefits would be until we started drilling with it. All of her pitches have experienced a significant increase in spins. This force really reinforces the motion on a standard 12" ball, as she has to make sure the ball goes all the way around. In order to remove spin disks, use this device instead if you can see the position of the pitches (read the stitches). This way is much more natural and forces the hands, wrists, and fingers to work harder to spin the ball. The investment was well worth it, and I am very pleased that the weight was kept.
