There were many differences between what was advertised and what was delivered. As it says softball, but upon testing, the ball was extremely hard and playing tennis was much more difficult. As it also claims to be "fastpitch", but upon trying, I was only able to pitch fairly slowly. However, they do not appear to have any issues.
In games authorized by a certain league, however, they don't get to choose which ball they want to use They must use a ball provided by the league or approved by it. I feel it's best to train pitchers with the balls they'll throw on game day. There are very few balls available that can compete with the Rawlings C12RYLAH, a great leather ball that is approved for use in ASA. When your pitcher is going to play in an ASA tournament, then this is a great ball. If she is playing USSSA, NSA, USA, Little League, etc. , then this is not the ball for her. It is important to make sure your daughter is throwing balls that are approved for the leagues she is participating in. I recommend you choose a ball that is approved for the league your daughter will be playing in. All other softballs have not been as popular with my daughter as these. The softballs used for "tournament sponsored" softballs were all gone over the weekend, so I reluctantly reached into my stash for a few of these. As soon as you cracked the bat one time, you knew these were the best softballs you'd ever played with. There is no doubt that this is the best softball out there. It has been a pleasure playing with these balls for the past 3 years, as their quality is superior to the competition. There are no better seam balls on the market than the dream seam balls. I had no need to scuff or get the ball ready to use for my pitchers since the ball came right out of the wrapper. I truly believe they make the ball pop off the bat when struck properly which has never failed to impress my batters.
This Rawlings is the real deal, not a A good stitching job and a slightly yellow but not an overly glowing color make it easy to see and use as a training piece. Their shape and color appeal to my daughter.
