Selected User Reviews For Mylec Nylon Replacement Blade For Composite Shafts
It's a significant improvement over the previous design with the holes in the top of the blade, and it feels solid enough in your hands and appears to be fairly durable for street hockey. Unfortunately, it is still far too adaptable to be used outdoors during the summer. It has good stick handling, but there is far too much flex in the blade when shooting the puck/ball to be precise or fire a powerful shot. It would be much better if they could find a way to make the upper part of the blade out of more firm materials and fuse that together with maybe an inch or inch and a half of this nylon material for the bottom portion. Having said that, I've been playing hockey for a long time and we play fairly competitively, so this should be fine for younger/inexperienced players or for casually playing in the driveway with your kids or something.
I bought this plastic stick end in the hopes of using it for my outdoor roller hockey with a puck, but it isn't quite rigid enough. It's probably fine for kids to play any kind of outdoor hockey, but not for adults. It appears to be quite strict. However, I found that when shooting and digging for the puck against other players, it flexed far too much. I went back to using wood and ABS for the stick ends.
The ideal blade for playing on the street. If you want to play ice hockey, this isn't the place to do it. It can be used in any senior shaft. When shooting a ball or puck, the blade is made of solid plastic and is not whippy. To keep the blade in the shaft, there's a lot of glue.
I frequently come across nice broken hockey sticks at the rink, and this blade is exactly what I need to turn them into street hockey sticks for myself and the kids. It appears to be of decent quality and will fit most adult sticks; I'm not sure why more options aren't available. br>br>The stick's curve is a little wonky, but it's nothing that a torch or heat gun can't fix.
It is exactly as described in the description. Now all I have to do is get my son to play with it more.
It works, but I had to make some adjustments to make it fit into the shaft. So far, everything seems to be in order.
This is exactly what you'd expect, and it's ideal for storing hockey balls in the driveway. Not as adaptable as you might think.
Brittle! More rigidity is required. It has a floppy, squishy feel to it. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> The second time I used this blade, it broke. I would not recommend this product! If more flexibility is desired, it may be acceptable for a junior blade, but it is unacceptable for a senior stick.
