Product Description

Replacement blades for the Franklin Shot Zone are made of high-impact polymer for long-term durability and abrasion resistance.
These replacement blades are available in two sizes (JR and SR), as well as left and right shots, for use with Franklin 1010 and 1020 shafts.
Each blade has two self-tapping screws and is molded to fit a 20mm x 30mm shaft.

Questions & Answers

What is the maximum width of a stick that can be inserted into the blade?

The standard wood shaft, plain and simple. Within the first use at the rink, all six of the ones I received cracked at the joint. After every wrist shot (there were no slapshots), the joint crack would spread and eventually fly off. Maybe these are fake because there are strange streaks all over the blade that aren't on the Franklin store bought ones I've had before. I also noticed that this was a common issue.

Is this a blade that goes inside a hollow stick or one that goes over the top?

It goes around the outside of the stick and screws into it.

I've read a few reviews claiming that a junior blade was delivered instead of a senior blade. Is it true that you're selling a senior blade?

I've ordered these a few times and have always gotten the senior blade that I ordered.

It's a good blade to use for street hockey or back-and-forth
3/5

This is a good blade to use as a back-up blade. ball/stick for street hockey I try to keep one or two of these on hand as a backup. When the original wears out or breaks, replace it with a new one. You must shave the end of the shaft before installing this blade, or else you won't be able to get both screws in, and it will be wobbly. br>br>Much better than the old/traditional Mylec blades with the vents along the top, as it is a bit stiffer, but still not as good as a solid composite or wooden blade.

Durable
3/5

I ordered a junior size for my son and received a senior size with a screw missing. Having said that, the item itself is of excellent quality.

These are an excellent substitute for purchasing new sticks
5/5

I've been playing a lot of street (roller) hockey for years, but it wasn't until recently that I realized I could use these blades instead of full sticks. I was using a Louisville composite stick at the time, but after 5-years of use, it was time to upgrade. After six uses, the blade had worn down to the point where it was affecting my stick handling. br>br>After my old blade wore out, I sawed it off and replaced it with these blades, which are fantastic. They may wear out quickly depending on how often and how intensely you use them, but they are a MUCH more cost-effective option than replacing entire sticks when you only need a new blade. br>br>These are great for stick handling and possibly some shooting with a street hockey ball, but not with a puck.

Regrettably, I'll have to rely on Dick's for Mylec
3/5

I received what I believe to be a JUNIOR blade because it was about 3 inches shorter than the other Franklin blades I have, which I didn't notice until my 9-year-old daughter pointed it out to me. The new blade, according to my older son, completely messed up his shooting. When compared to other blades, the reason appears to be obvious. br>br>Amazon customer service deserves a pat on the back for quickly removing the charge. Their solution, however, was to order from a different manufacturer rather than replacing the junior blade with a senior blade. Franklin has a longer lifespan than Mylec, which I prefer. Regrettably, I'll have to rely on Dick's for Mylec.

It went above and beyond my expectations! Slap shots with a lot of force – improved control Replacement blades for seniors who play street hockey
5/5

The blades are textured on the front and back for added stick control, and they've held up well in the few games that have been played so far. There are no issues. For faster stick speed, you don't need any other blades with air holes (this is a myth!). I can hit harder slap shots and have more control than ever before with this slightly wider, stronger blade!.

Blade replacement at a low cost
5/5

My team and I play ice hockey on a parking lot, which causes our blades to wear out quickly. This blade has been great so far, especially for the price; however, there isn't much curve to it, so if curve is important to you, this blade may not be for you. However, if you're simply looking for a low-cost way to play, this is the ideal solution.

A junior blade was sent to me
3/5

The blade itself appears to be of good quality, being stiffer than the Mylec blades, but based on my experience and other reviews, it's a toss-up whether you'll actually receive a Senior size blade.
