As a product for this price, it is quite good. I have not yet used the replacement laces, but they are made of sturdy materials and should fit just about any baseball glove (though I haven't yet used the tools). There are several generic diagrams included in the instructions that show how to replace any device that's been damaged Gloves that have lace are the most common. Although no instructions can cover every type of glove, they should be enough to get you going. My gloves fit perfectly after I used this set to tighten them up. I didn't bother replacing the original laces with the ones from the kit since the original ones were not worn thin and had stretched over time. As a beginner, I was unable to figure out where the various laces in the glove went. Using the diagrams, I was able to determine where and what laces It was very helpful to have these tools at hand To my knowledge, I have previously used pliers that damaged the laces. By pulling tight on the laces with the needle, you can get good leverage. In the process, I encountered only one difficulty one glove was laced with thick leather straps, which proved difficult to thread through the needle's eye. Keeping that in mind, this item's eye measures about 1/8" wide by 1/2" long, so take that into consideration when you purchase it
All in all, this product is useful and definitely worth the money if you're planning to restore gloves.
In late 2007, I purchased this video for my son so "he" could learn how to restore his beloved baseball glove.
Br>Most of what you may need to repair There is a stitch that connects the lacing of a glove. As well as the kit, it comes with fairly insightful (but generic) instructions on how to reassemble Make sure the glove is laced properly. Gloves don't all work the same way It is the typical teenage experience). Although the project was actually a lot of fun, my only complaint is that the threading tool did not hold up very A quarter of the way through the revision In the process of tying the shoe, the wood handle separated from the metal stitching rod, causing some delay in the project. I nonetheless managed to jerry-rig the project and complete it. This tool must be rigged in order to do its
I was extremely happy with the results. It was my stitching tool that failed rather than the product itself that made me award four stars instead of five In addition to the manufacturers' (not the seller's) poor attitude and complete lack of follow through when I expressed my concerns about the above-mentioned failures, I also had a problem with the seller's lack of follow through after I reported my concerns. The tool that is referenced. "We aren't concerned about it, it's your problem" is pretty much how they acted.
I'll be honest this is a bit It is a pair of wire cutters that you can use instead of scissors. There is a wire that you are supposed to thread into the lace, and an awl to make a hole in the lace for the wire. Personally, I find that Tanners brass or stainless steel threaded end needles are more durable and last longer. In the end, the only reason I bought this was because it seemed like the only option for a all-in-one solution, but after using it twice, the wooden handle of the pull loop tool pulled straight off the needle and I had to go back to using needle nose pliers. Make your own lace for cheap with a tanners needle, needle nose pliers, and needle nose pliers. There is nothing nice about this lace. Choose Mizuno lace, as it is the best available on the market.
To relace a couple gloves, I used this tool. As far as I can tell, everything is holding up. This thin needle was what I used the most. It was bent all over the place by the end of the quilt. Trying to bend it back was all I could do. In reality, I do not use the punch much and the wooden device at the end that looks like it is used for threading a needle, I only use on a couple of occasions because once the leather is in the tip, it just becomes too thick or wide to get through the holes. After working on it for about 30 minutes, I threw on some gloves because my fingers started to burn/blister from all There was no need to use the leather that came with the backpack There was a thicker, more durable leather on the Mizuno Ball Gloves that looked better than the others. There have been some other reviews that said some of this stuff just fell apart, but I did not experience that myself.
Almost like plastic (except for the wire cutters), the metal had an almost rubbery feel. I felt like I was playing with toys and the tools There are a couple of semi-rigid laces on this shoe I only gave two stars (instead of less) because it was actually possible for me to confirm it with another organization We no longer intend to use these tools to lace the glove again since it was an extremely painful process. You must spend your money elsewhere, like buying a lacing needle (instead of a U needle), wire cutters (or heavy duty scissors if you already have any) and My mind is made up that If I had bought the components elsewhere, I could have made a better kit, but opted to go the easier way. I won't repeat that mistake ever.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the tools work great. Restringing a glove is my first attempt, and I thought it went fine (I only reinserted the laces on the top of the fingers). When I had finished, the glove was still pretty neat looking, even though it is well past its prime after 35 years. The old days! **The only drawback is that the tools aren't very durable (the handle separated from the metal punch tool) and there are a lot of loose screws in the combination. I can't imagine the bottom of the 'U' is large enough to allow a strand of belt leather to rest there.
I purchased this kit because it seemed to be all in one. Although some of the tools (specifically the lacing tool) are poor quality, the quality of others is good. The steel needle pulled away from the handle while I was using it to lace the second stitch on my son's glove. There is no description on certain tools and when to use them in the directions. The directions demonstrate how to lace several kinds of gloves but never provide a basic overview. This is a pretty good value considering it comes with 3 x 72" laces, a pair of cutters, and The kit will be kept for these reasons, but I'll have to order something else in order to actually use it Put the laces on my gloves.
