I like the way this item looks I have tested and handled one in the pro sports shop and I can assure you this is not the first one I tested. I noticed that the one I saw at the store was made of thicker wood and had real weight and heft. I got one that weighs only 4 ounces. There are 2 ounces in each. It can be hard to get any benefit from the wood because it is so cheap. The only way I can rate it is for what it is, not what it is not. According to my estimation, it is worth around You would expect this lightweight "Rawlings" affiliated item to be in a toy store, not a sporting goods I don't believe it softens a mitt well -- it's flimsy and not very effective. But, we can use it for something else and I found out that it makes an excellent shoulder massager. As a backup plan, I have some wood glue handy in case the ball head happens to fly.

A great way to break ice The gloves are high quality and in gloves

I was a little unsure about purchasing it based on some reviews. When I slammed it against a glove, I was worried that it might fall apart. Despite the fact that it's lightweight and sturdy, it's as good I have used it on four brand new gloves with over one hundred hard hits and it is still as durable.

Despite a fine material, the handle is insufficient for holding the product

My first use of it proved to be disastrous, so I decided to repair it by drilling through the ball and attaching a metal cap after glueing the handle on one end and a hook on the other end, and it now works flawlessly.

The 44 brand glove was to break in an expensive glove that I bought, and this works ok, but I wish it were In order for my glove to mold and conform to what I want, I must pound it forever. Furthermore, it has a bit of a jerky feel. There seems to have been a lack of effort put into finishing It feels rough to the touch and has splinters on it. This is decent. This isn't a product I would buy.

You might as well get some glue

I really like this product, it works as described. If you're buying this item, be sure to pick up some glue. I was able to take the ball off within 15 minutes. The glue dries in a few minutes, then the cover is perfect. Had it not been for that, I would have given five.
