I was not able to give it a 5 only because of this. I am happy with the product. My only reason for giving it a 4 star is because the hook that came with it might have been more of a hook to grab the lace rather than a hook. It required a paperclip to be a needle per se, and a pair of pliers to pull the lace through. It is easy to find the path of the lace after opening the hook up. In spite of that, it worked fine for me and I was able to repair After I post photos, I'll share them.

My son plays travel ball, so it gets a bunch of use. The stitching on a new glove came undone after two months. This is the restitching setup I ordered. It is something I have never done The directions were easy to follow and the stitching was simple. Everyone can do it if I can do it in 20 minutes and drink a couple of beers. This is way better in terms of durability. A quarter of the way into the year, no issues.

I glued a dab of super glue on the end of the old lace to the end of the new lace and rerouted it through the new lace as the tool was not working well for me.
