Throw the trash in the trashcan. I eventually gave up trying to get the lace through the glove after spending more than 20 minutes trying to do so, so I disposed of the kit and ordered a standard glove needle and some lacing in a similar color. To get the doubled up lacing into the lacing hole, you must stretch the neck out of the lacing hole. The design of the tool means once you pull the lacing through you get doubled up lacing and you must pull it all through a hole that is too small to accommodate all of it, so it is an epic fail and the color of the lacing is very different than the picture.
Using something to tighten the fingers of my old glove was needed. The provided leather strip did not really serve any purpose for me. My only requirement for the tool was the tool itself. The tools I used a decade ago were the same as those I used today and they worked as required. The resting of your glove is simple, provided that you are able to follow the pattern of the manufacturer's laces. The glove restringing tool is essential. I have restrung my glove at least four times already. My only experience with this tool is through this one. If I use any other tool, I don't know how to accomplish it. It's also good to have a pair of needle nose pliers on hand.
I instead got a lace with needle from Hyland and that worked very well also, the lace with needle from Hyland was more sufficient to do the majority of the glove and it came with a nice needle for relacing. Because the tool would take a long time to use, as well as the lack of lace, you would not be able to make your glove.
The tool is useful. Ensure that the end of the leather is intact before you feed it through the tool otherwise, you will have difficulty feeding it through. There would have been value in it if there were more leather options. It is possible that the package held fewer than four feet.
I like the way it looks and works. There would be no problem if the leather string came with a lacer that threads on the end of it.
I like the lacing kit very much. A new bladder can be installed in a football perfectly with the needle.
It is difficult to rearrange the lacing with a large device and leather lacing, but can fit through several openings at once.
I found it to be very useful. There might be some things that it could be used for, but it really is the perfect tool for this situation.
