The New Balance 1260 was a maximum stability shoe; the New Balance Vongo (high cushioning and support) and the New Balance 860 (medium cushioning and medium support) are more comparable options. Moderate to maximum stability shoes would be the most similar outside of New Balance for other similar models.

I have no idea what the other person is thinking, but B sizing is a common narrow shoe size indicator. Except for a few of their newer running shoes, New Balance shoes tend to run wide. If a Narrow option is available, I would choose it (likely there will be a "B" somewhere near the end of the shoe's ID code on the box or a "B" indicating width somewhere on the box when you receive it). Because they're a brand that caters to wide feet, I'd try the narrow option first and be prepared to return if it's still too wide.

I've been a New Balance customer for a long time, but this most recent pair of shoes was a letdown. The M880 is a mediocre shoe that is good for mediocre tasks but not for heavy athletic activity, as some claim. I bought these to use on the treadmill and stationary bike on a daily basis, but they are uncomfortable for the following reasons. The constant pounding of the steps on the treadmill causes the sole of the foot to feel as if it is bottoming out on a hard surface with each step. Additional inserts, such as Dr Scholls and even third-party insoles, did not make a significant difference. The consistency of the molded soles of the shoes is the second thing I dislike about them. The right shoe is fine and feels consistent from heel to toe, with sufficient cushioning for modest but non-stretching activities. tasks requiring athletic ability The consistency of the left shoe sole appears to drop off near the ball of the foot, and the toes appear to be hanging over an edge, as if standing on the edge of a stairwell. I can't recommend these shoes for anything other than casual wear due to the lack of additional padding.

The manufacturer, rather than the seller, is to blame. Despite the fact that I am a size 9, I had to return it. It was too small on a scale of one to five. I had to return it and buy a size 10 of the same model. 5 dollars at a factory outlet. Each shoe is unique, according to the store salesman, and the size that fits you in one shoe may not fit you in another. Buying shoes on the internet is probably a bad idea.
I've had to rely on new balance for years because of my wide feet. For the past 18 months, I've had a pair of 880 shoes that I've mostly used for walking and cycling. They appeared to be nearly new at this point. It was a pleasant experience. We felt safe and secure. However, they appeared to have a lot of miles on them, so I purchased a second pair of 880s. They've done a fantastic job so far.
I no longer put a lot of miles on my shoes, but I've started trying to run/treadmill several times a week and have a trainer beat me up with regular weight/HIIT sessions. I also go for hikes/trail jogs with our four dogs on occasion. I looked into a few pairs of shoes that were suggested for a good running routine but also worked well for cross-training. Training, gym, etc. (I had foot pain when running in some of my lighter trainers, and I felt like I had no ankle support). These were extremely comfortable right out of the box, and I kept the New Balance and a pair of Nike Metcons from a total of four pairs ordered for comparison. They're completely different shoes, but I switch between them depending on whether I'm more likely to run/jog or focus on flexibility and weights. (Another pair of Nike shoes, as is often the case, was way too narrow. ) I was normally an 11 1/2, sometimes wide, and these were perfect.
