We bought him a board so that he could practice at home on top of the practice he gets at the dojong. My son is training for his black belt in taekwondo and there are three breaks he has to take. The smallest size is yellow and he is a smaller 9 year old so I chose the thinnest, he is a smallish 9 year old. Although he is able to complete the overhead strike with the board at the dojong, he has never succeeded in doing so with the overheads. Although he was once successful in using his spinning 360 kick with the yellow board, he is more successful using the dojong game. It is quite evident this is not the easiest there could be as there should be another option. He has never completed his twin strike break with a yellow board, so this is not the easiest option there should be. For comparison, I can break an overhead strike with the yellow board using "proper" technique and the greater force I generate, so it is obvious that it is too easy for an adult (I am not an expert in taekwondo). However, it is not my picturesque technique that facilitates this it is the adult force I supply that facilitates it.
This is exactly what has been This book served as a Taekwondo practice book for my daughter. This item has a sturdy, solid feel. If your child is just getting started in martial arts, it can be a bit difficult for him to break this habit. In this case, the belt color goes well with the color of the belt. Color yellow is a bit difficult to break and requires some strength and force to do so.
You will notice that the boards are hard at first, but as your child breaks them they will become easier. After some time, they will weaken and you will have to just throw them away since they'll be very easy to break. Then again, you should get plenty of use out of them. Levels are good, I like that they are different. Begin with the yellow if your child is small and work your way up from there.
Between the two boards I have, I find that the red is lighter and the blue is heavier. While the blue is good for a starting point, it is kind of on the easy side because it is not too challenging. However, the red is probably too challenging for my 10-year-old who is new to board breaking but has been in martial arts for 3 years. Even though another level between the two would be nice, great home practice is ensuring he will arrive at the top sooner or later. Before purchasing either of these levels, I deliberated between them for some time. Now I am glad I have them both. His level of confidence is rising as he has broken the blue one 150 times since Christmas, and it is still going strong. There's no need to blow through costly pine boards with this method!.
To break it, you had to pull hard on it, and the only way they could do it was if I held it with my thumbs while pushing hard. It gave me an idea to try a little white lithium grease (similar to a very small drop) to make the joint Very easy to use! Consequently, the boys can now punch, kick and chop freely without having to worry about In the event they want it harder, I can clean out the joint, and now it is hard to break.
The board is of the same high standard as the ones in your local dojo. I can break this yellow one with my 9 year old Green belt with no trouble. This book would be suitable for children between the ages of 6 and 12. It is too difficult for him to break the red one we have. We're going to get him.
Make sure it is the board you want because otherwise you will sell it like I did because I did not want it.
I think they are pretty good. I love it! The yellow one is what I have at the moment. I will get the other ones as well. This thing is very easy to put back together, even my 9 year old daughter can do it. It is something I would recommend. Orange belts do great with her, so they do well with beginners as well.
