Is there a certain amount of force I need to strike it with?

Starting out easy depends on the purpose of your training. However, as you learn perfect your form and improve your body strength to support your punch, begin increasing your difficulty. When the power is increased, increase it further. Be sure you take your focus point into account as well. When you feel that your technique is solid, you can start penetrating the pad just a few centimeters into the pad, and then gradually make your way further into the target.

Is it okay to punch it bare knuckled or do I have to wrap my hands?

As far as the heavy bag or any other training equipment, I always punch with bare knuckles. On the other hand, I never use wraps or gloves for punching.

Students will benefit from training with this piece of equipment

As it will be put through a lot of abuse in order to train students and individuals on a regular basis, its workmanship appeals to me. There is only one thing I dislike about this chair the size of the back support wooden vase. In my opinion, the vase should be longer. If you are looking for a training product that toughens up your hands, this is your best choice.

Considering that the padding has started to cave in several places, I am not likely to be able to use it for very long. I guess that's the way it goes.
